- This article is about the game. For the stage, see Yoshi's Island: Yoshi's Story.
Yoshi's Story (Japanese: ヨッシーストーリー, Yosshī Sutōrī, released simply as Yoshi Story in Japan) is a Nintendo 64 game starring Yoshi, and it is the direct sequel to Yoshi's Island. It is Yoshi's only console game to date starring Yoshi that does not include Mario (though Baby Bowser, the younger form of Mario's nemesis, does appear).
In the first Super Smash Bros., there was a stage called Yoshi's Island that was based on this game, featuring the Super Happy Tree in the background and other characters as well. It even had the main platform resembling an opened book. This stage returned as a past stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, there was another stage based on the game and was named after it as well. A remix of the ending of the game is included in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and plays on the new Yoshi's Island stage, which is based more on the Yoshi's Island franchise than Yoshi's Story itself.
