The X Bomb is an item from the Kid Icarus series introduced in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. It was revealed on Masahiro Sakurai's Miiverse page and simultaneously on the current Super Smash Bros. Official Website. When thrown, it releases a blast of fire in a cross-shaped radius, damaging anyone caught inside.

The X Bomb will explode when hit or thrown, but its explosion is +- or x-shaped which is unique. It functions simillar to the Smart Bomb, but unlike the latter, the X Bomb will not hurt the character who threw it.
Trophy Description
This bomb will explode shortly after it leaves your hand, expanding outward in an X-shaped blast that tears through anything in its path. Its incredible power can be a lot of fun, but don't get crazy. Blowing up everything is no way to get ahead in life!
