Winged Pikmin is Pikmin & Olimar's Up Special Move in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Olimar will be carried upward by two winged Pikmin. This move replaces Olimar's Pikmin Chain from Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Overview

Olimar summons two winged Pikmin, which carry him upwards to safety. It can also fly to the side, similar to Pit's Wings of Icarus. However, how far he flies is determined by how many Pikmin he has out. The more Pikmin Olimar has at his side, the heavier he will be, which results in a shorter recovery. The lighter he is, the longer his recovery will be.

Custom Variations

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, with the introduction of the Custom Moves, Pikmin & Olimar has 2 variations of Winged Pikmin.

Winged Pikmin Jump

Winged Pikmin Jump is one of Pikmin & Olimar's Up Special Moves that can be used via customizations. Two Winged Pikmin appear and carries Olimar upward very quickly, and will push opponents back if they are near. The number of Pikmin Olimar is holding doesn't matter, it will always go the same distance with or without Pikmin.

Mighty Winged Pikmin

Mighty Winged Pikmin is one of Pikmin & Olimar's Up Special Moves that can be used via customizations. Two Winged Pikmin appear and carries Olimar upward. They are easier to control, but they have less vertical distance.

Trophy Description

Winged Pikmin

These pink Pikmin have big, blue eyes and nice wings to help them fly. In Smash Bros., they show up to carry Olimar and friends through the air. However, how high and far they can fly is affected by how many friends they have to carry. More Pikmin will weigh them down.

Origin

Winged Pikmin first appeared in Pikmin 3, along with the Rock Pikmin, who have not appeared in any Super Smash Bros. game yet.

Trivia

  • Interestingly, Olimar's recovery is better in Brawl the more Pikmin he has, but is better in 3DS/Wii U the less Pikmin he has.
