With the new Mewtwo DLC, Smash Bros can go into uncharted territory with DLC, such as stages, alternate costumes, assist trophies, you name it, but today I'll be focusing on the core of every Smash game, the characters. As far as DLC characters, I believe assist trophies, stage bosses/hazards, and Pokeball Pokemon are all off limits (Ridley WHYYYY??), but characters who are just trophies are safe. This obviously leaves the door open for Lucas, Wolf, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Ice Climbers, etc. But my main predictions for DLC characters ;
Newcomers
Isaac - He hasn't been mentioned or even touched upon, I think because he is playable. Alot of moveset potential, could use some elements of his assist trophy in Brawl. 80% chance
Krystal - She has some options for a unique moveset, would make a good addition to the Star Fox characters. 75% Chance
King K. Rool - With the lack of villains, moveset potential, and general old school feel, K. Rool would be awesome, but the simple fact that he hasn't appeared in a real DK game since DK 64, I doubt he would be put in. 40% Chance
Dixie Kong - Could either be a Diddy semi-clone, or a unique character. Has alot of potential, alot of fan support. DK franchise also needs more characters. 60% Chance
Chorus Men - Never been the most keen on these guys, but would be kinda cool seeing a triple character fighter. They do have Rhythm Heaven enemies in Smash Run, so Sakurai must know of their existence, but maybe they might have trouble with the 3DS in a similar vein to the Ice Climbers. 50% Chance
Impa - Could easily be a Sheik clone, yet I feel like it would make alot of Zelda characters, although alot of rumors include her, they may have a grain of truth to them. 45% Chance
Sceptile - Would be awesome to see on the Wii U, completes the rumored elemental Pokemon trio, awesome Mega Evolution Final Smash, but I think Mewtwo fills the Pokemon DLC up. 40% Chance
Vets
Lucas - With some of his moves being given to Ness in the form of custom specials, I doubt they would implement him now. 20% Chance
Wolf - Same boat as Lucas, just with Fox instead. 20% Chance
Ivysaur & Squirtle - Obviously an ideal opportunity to put them in with a bit of a revamp, but I feel it would over saturate the Pokemon characters 30% Chance
Ice Climbers - With what Sakurai has told us, I don't think the Ice Climbers will be used in this iteration of Smash due to technical difficulties, unless they are either revamped or turned into a Rosaluma type combo instead of two independent fighters. 20% Chance
Snake - He was cool in Brawl, but I always thought he seemed out of place. Good moveset, and would be relatively easy to carry over from Brawl, but I think all the third party slots are taken up by more iconic characters then him. 30% Chance
