Don't post below that DLC was leaked with the character roster. Remember the leak that said Ridley was in the game? Like that leak it was spread with no solid evidence (picture, footage, etc.) so until Nintendo confirms that leak was real then its fake.
I am expecting some DLC for this game. Here are my thoughts.
Returning Characters[]
This part was made before Sakurai said why the Ice Climbers were cut. I think if they appear as DLC it should be Wii U exclusive.
- Mewtwo: Mewtwo can destroy Lucario any time, any where. The only character from Melee that was cut and wasn't a clone, Mewtwo now has more potential than before. In Pokemon Black & White Mewtwo got an exclusive move (Psystrike) which could replace Shadow Ball as that move is similar to one of Lucario's moves. I also think Disable should be replaced with something else. Like Mimic? Mewtwo could copy the last move used by anyone in the fight. Or Recover? Mewtwo could remove damage done to him by a small percentage. In Pokemon X & Y with Mewtwo's Mega Evolutions it leads to more possibilities for his final smash.
- Ice Climbers: If you've seen other blogs here then you understand this choice. The Ice Climbers were the only characters from Brawl that were cut and weren't clones (other than Snake but who expected him to return?). And the only other cut characters were Lucas and Wolf yet Toon Link (the most blatant clone in Brawl) wasn't cut. I'm not going to detail how their moveset could change as I don't see any new ideas or any reason to change their moves.
New Characters[]
I'm not mentioning Ridley since he is a stage hazard and simply wouldn't work in the series. Face it, he will not be DLC.
- Krystal: I can see Krystal being a Fox/Falco/Wolf clone but that isn't something I want. I would like a DLC character to not be a clone (unless it's free in which it doesn't make a difference) and there are quite a few possibilities for her moves. I could detail some of the things she and Fox could do in Star Fox Adventures but I have another theory. Supporters of Waddle Dee's inclusion in SSB have pointed out that the series has no spear users. Krystal's weapon looks like a spear so she could provide a new type of moveset somewhat similar to sword users.
- Magolor: Somebody else here brought this one up. Magolor could be a standard SSB character. Unlike other Kirby characters, he would not have 7 jumps but instead could have a teleport move for his up smash. An attack similar to Mewtwo's Shadow Ball would work but instead of being able to charge it, how about allowing players to shoot multiple orbs at once in different directions? His down smash could be creating one of those spikes that he made during the fight with him in KRtDL in front of him. Magolor could shoot Sphere Doomers similar to Mewtwo's Shadow Ball but instead of going straight they could fly up, or spin around in the air and change direction, or it could be like PK Thunder. Magolor also has a huge range of possible final smashes. The Lor Starcutter, the void he creates in the boss battle or a dark-version of Kirby's final smash could work but he would most likely turn into Magolor Soul.
Stages (3DS)[]
No list of Wii U stages since we don't know every stage in that version yet.
- I think we need a proper Star Fox level. A stage from Star Fox 64 3D was expected by most people but instead we got Corneria which was in the past 2 SSB games.
- I also think a stage from Kirby Triple Deluxe should have been included so we could get a new Kirby stage instead of a stage based on the first Kirby game and a returning stage in the Wii U version (although that version may have a KRtDL stage).
- Wii Fit Studio (on 3DS): I think this should happen since Wii Fit Trainer has no stage of her/his own. I would only like this idea if the stage was released for free .
- A Dr. Mario stage would be a neat idea although it would most likely be a scrolling stage. It could be inside a level from Dr. Mario with blocks (pills) falling from the sky.
- Metroid could also use an original stage.
- Bring back some Melee stages that weren't in Brawl.
Cost[]
If Super Smash Bros. for Wii U costs 60 (Canadian, but the American price uses the same numbers) dollars then let's say that is 10 dollars for the characters, 10 for the stages, 10 for the smash mode, 10 for other modes, 10 for trophies and other collectibles (ex. music) and 10 for the online. This means that you would pay roughly 20 cents for each character. Now I know that the game's price doesn't work like that but I'm saying that the characters shouldn't have a very high cost. As for stages (assuming the Wii U version has the same number of stages as the 3DS version) then each stage costs around 29 cents so again, this stuff shouldn't be more than 1 or 2 dollars.
