introduction

Hi, I'm rebelpyro, real name is andrew, and I became interested in this wiki after I looked it up after getting brawl. I never played ssb, and I only played meele at a friends house, but I have become fairly good in brawl. I mained snake, ike, lucas and sonic until shortly before christmas 08, so now I main lucario and sup ganondorf.

I am very intrested in joining some tourniments or adding new friends as my own are useless giving me theirs, and a of yet I haven't got one person on there. Just message my youtube profile and give me you code, Mine is already on there on a video.

playstyle

I used to main snake, and I learned to use Ike after isperation from watiching two compleatly awsome ikes fight online. I also had learned lucas to counter a friends wolf, and finaly ,I attempted learned sonic to compensate for my overall slow playstyle. I overall have a low level of play due to only ever playing cpu opponants, and would like to improve, as I know many techiques like snake dashing and grenade cooking, but I hardly ever play them. My favoret stages are final destination, battlefield, bridge of eldin (can't remember the name) hyrule temple and big blue. I dislike items and smash balls as they take out the eliment of skill in the game. I would like to get some online rivals to help me train myself, and also start entering tourniments.

Reacently, about a month before christmas 2008, I reallised thanks to new friends a crush that my training method was no good, and for all my practice, I was almost useless against people. So, with their help and advice, I began to learn lucario, as I realised I wasn't playing a good snake, I was doing what everyone else did, and so that meant that no moves I could use were suprising for a foe, theirfore, If I had any chance of getting better, I needed to learn more unpredictable charictors. So I chose lucario based on how much I liked playing as him in subspace emmasery mode. I also learned ganondorf after a quick try out.

Overall, I played a defencive/versitle fighting style in one on one, often prefuring to let my opponants make the first move, then counterattacking with a well timed move, thats why ganondorf works so well for me. After watching "how to brawl like a man" I gained a much more focused style in multiplayer, choosing one opponant and chasing them until they're destroyed.

I've also found I do best in three player matches since I don't panic in them. After joining clan Nsu, I learned techiques I had difficulty with before, like short hoping and grab games, but unfortuanatly, in matches I panic and revert to my safe, predictable style, and hit buttons to hard to short hop and screw up the grabing, so I show little improvement despite my new skills. If anyone has any advice on how to stop panicing in my brawls, then it would be much apreciated. I also would like advice on how to improve my game both overall and for my charicters (perticually ganondorf, I dislike the lack of help anywere on learning him)

  • snake my first main, quit after I realised my moves with him were only good since he was a good charictor

  • samus (SSBB) and Zero Suit Samus (SSBB) latest mains, I like samus's power and unusal timing, and I like zero suit samus's speed and combo potential
  • Sheik tryed her out after zero suit samus, but didn't work out

future mains?

  • Captain Falcon after playing gannondorf, the captain might be a good choice to try
  • Meta Knight fast, practacly no counters, great recovery, could use him to counter spam characters
  • Ice Climbers two to one, good moves, good recovery, possable
  • Donkey Kong counter for seveal anoying charictors
  • Olimar fast, strong, gets stronger over time, and matches my unusal trend for likeing charictors with unique elements, like ganondorfs darkness and lucarios aura
  • snake and ike after improving overall, It might be a good idea to re-learn them, mabey I wasn't as bad with them as I tought?
  • dark link I've been playing as him against my noob friends when I take brawl round their house, and I like him, and he has more style than toon link

I reasently bought dazzel and I finaly have everything set up for making machinima. I have made a remake of my previous video "how to get better in brawl", and I am planning my own verition of the last teir war, but using brawl and just descutions of the tiers. If anyone would like to help, contact my youtube page. I could also use some help fusing the megaman willy castle song's 8bit and gituar vertions, and if anyone could tell me how to do it without "garageband", it would be much apreciated, as I not to fond of paying £100 just to make songs.

teir thoughts

  • Olimar - fast, good super armour, high range, strong attacks, he's going to move up = told you so
  • Diddy Kong - fast, unpredictable, fairly strong damage dealing tilts, he's going to stay high
  • Yoshi - meta knight counter, he's going up
  • Ike - slow but massively powerful, tons of reliable spikes, ok recovery and heavy weight, he's going up
  • Lucas - good air game, better ground game, but chainthrowable by popular charicters, but might go up
  • Ice Climbers - strong attacks, fast, good recovery, they may go higher
  • Link - going to stay low unless someone works out how to make him outperform toonlink on more than skill
  • Toon Link - good aproach and good projectile game, possible gain a few places but overall he'll stay in the middle
  • Fox - tourniment ranking in japan may make him rise, but still probable stay in middle teir
  • Wario - best, if a bit situational, recorery in the game, and a versitile but unpredictable moveset, he's a high for sure
  • DK - snake counter and only partialy weak to metaknight, so desurves high placement
  • King Dedede - he's a floating heavy weight with a chaingrab, need I say more for high placement
  • R.O.B. - ken combo, wall of pain, arguable the best standered recovery in the game, he desurves high

ranking system

I think a ranking system needs to be added to brawl, here is the my first attempt at such a sytem, but their are still problems like a player who keeps spikeing the opponant at a low damage scores lower than one at high damage, and players of metaknight have a harder time scoring highly since he lacks counters, but here it is anyway.

  2. level cpu, x level, higher cpu, higher score
  3. strength of counter, x ew (100%), vw(110%), w(120%), sw(130%), lm(140%), m(150%), sm(160%), ls(170%), s(180%), vs(190%), es(200%), multiplier baed on counter strength
  4. win – lose out of 10 matches, base value, fight 10 matches and a good player should win more
  5. ratio damage delt to damage taken, x (ratio dd:dt)%, a good player should deal more damage than they take
  6. ratio Ko’s to ko’ed, x (ratio ko’s:ko’ed))%, a good player should ko more than they get ko’ed
  7. Professional value, varies, a value added by professional brawlers based on personal option of their play style.

charicter designer

here's my thoughts on what the charictor designer should be

  1. tradeoff system - they need to stick in a system for changing the stats of a fighter so changing one thing makes many changes, such as increasing weight gives a small decrease in spped and jump distance, and a small increase in power, but overall you shouln't be able to change the overall style of the charictor, like Ike will always be slow and powerful, but how slow and how powerful can be changed in relation to the other, such as making him a lot faster, but losing a lot of damage and ko potenchal
  2. equil move exchange - moves can be exchanged from the custom charictors base, but the move can only be one of the same type, e.g. a forward smash must be replaced by a forward smash
  3. move tweaking - some move propertys can be changed, like switching the move element, but overall, the move can't be tweaked
  4. design - the design of a chatictor should be baised on another charicter, but they can change aspects of the charictor, such as a pikatue based charicter being alowed to use mario as a basis, but he can still chose different cloths and colours than mario or pikatue, but he will have a similar size, stance, and other base features e.g. jump style e.t.c. as mario.

rebel rages and utina abridged

due to school work and privet conserns, I am unable to continue rebel rages for the moment. However I am helping a friend xPsychoDoll make "utena - the abridged movie". However, we need voice actors, so any help is welcomed.
