Ultra Sword is Kirby's new Final Smash introduced in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, replacing Cook Kirby from Brawl. When activated, Kirby will slash an opponent several times with the Ultra Sword, and then end with a powerful attack, much like Triforce Slash.
Origin
Ultra Sword originates from Kirby's Return to Dream Land, which is a Super Ability he instantly acquires from inhaling a Super Blade Knight. Its primary job is to destroy large groups of enemies and rip apart the terrain to reveal items and secret pathways. Each time Kirby uses Ultra Sword, the swung weapon is randomly selected from a variety of different objects, such as a bluefin tuna or Galaxia.
Trivia
- Though, Kirby uses different objects when he attacks with this ability in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, he can only use the actual Ultra Sword.
- In Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Kirby's Ultra Sword will only slash the screen once per use. He only uses the combo as seen in his Final Smash as a finishing blow on bosses requiring a Super Ability.
- If Shulk is absorbed and you activate any Monado Arts while using Ultra Sword, the effects of the selected Art will still affect the Final Smash .
