It has come to my attention that the Smash 4 Metagame has developed to the point where we should have match-up data on the respective character pages. I'd also like to add frame data to the moveset sections of the character pages as well as the Special Move pages. The easiest way I can think of to acquire this information is to go to the respective character Discords to receive critique and advice from people who know the characters well.
Additionally, many of the moveset sections on character pages look differently from others, whether it be damage percentages being in different places, certain words being bold where others are not, etc.
I think it would be best to find a standardized format for these moveset sections. The name of the move should be in bold and the description of the move kept concise and clear. The damage percentage at the end should be in bold, with no punctuation after the % sign. Moves should be divided up into sections: Ground Attacks, Aerial Attacks, Throws, and Special Moves. Special Moves section should just have the table, which all the pages already have. The Ground Attacks section should have subsections: Normal Attacks (includes jab, tilts, and dash attack), Smash Attacks, and Other Attacks (includes ledge attacks and get-up attacks).
I ask for the active editors on the Wiki to help me in doing this. Thank you and keep on smashing!
The frame data can be added at the end of each move description in the Moveset sections, probably in bold. As for the match-up data, I am currently working on making a new table template, and once that is finished we'll add it to the "In competitive play" sections.
Do you know how many potential matchups there are in 1 on 1 matches in Smash 4? 1716, that's how many. It seems awfully inconvenient to list every matchup there is, especially with a description of each. If you can find someone with that much free time on their hands, go ahead, but it just seems like a pointless effort IMO.
Frame Data, as well as possibly pictures showing hitboxes and hurtboxes, would certainly be a welcome addition though. Unfortunately though, I won't be able to assist in helping with that.
We aren't going to write in-depth character match-up information for every character and every possible match-up. That's not what I'm suggesting. When I say match-up data, I mean the ratios; you know, like for example, Fox has an 80:20 advantage over Samus (just giving an example idk if that value is correct).
