The Lake Shore level starts off with Kirby running off, leaving Peach/Zelda behind. Then Bowser comes and turns Peach/Zelda into a trophy. Then false Bowser dissolves into the trophy and creates a false princess. Upon that, Mario & Pit/Link & Yoshi are seen running along the lake. Up on a hill the false princess prepares to turn Mario/Link into a trophy, but her Dark Cannon is destroyed by an arrow from Pit/Link. A battle starts between either: Mario & Pit vs. False Zelda or Link & Yoshi vs. False Peach. After that, Mario/Link see False Peach/Zelda dissolve and are mistaked as the real princess. Upon the confusion, Mario/Link run up the hill and attacks the other group. Which starts up the next battle of: Mario & Pit vs. Link & Yoshi or the other way around. After that, Mario & Pit/Link & Yoshi turn into trophies. Then King Dedede appears in a cart carring the trophies of Ness, Luigi and Peach/Zelda. King Dedede grabs Mario & Pit/Link & Yoshi. When he sucessfully grabs them, Kirby appears and cuts the arm off the Cargo using Final Cutter and releases Mario & Pit/Link & Yoshi from their trophy forms. Then King Dedede Turns around and drives straight into the group. Link/Pit shoots an arrow at the cart and the cart falls apart. The group of Mario, Pit, Link, Yoshi, and Kirby run near the cart, which starts the next part of the level. After that part of the level is complete, the group comes upon an entrance to a cave.
