Should Lucas' Rope Snake Technique Be added to this list? Ph15h 19:44, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Sooo...[]

Does this mean that "Tether Recovery" is the official name for this type of move? Should we go and add the term to the Link, Young Link and Samus pages? (unsigned by WarxePB)

at this point, it's completely speculation. so no, do not add it. also, please sign your posts with 4 tildes ~. FyreNWater 03:27, August 16, 2007 (EDT)
It's speculation? Well, if you say so... But this to me looked like a previously-established gameplay concept getting an actual name in a later release, so I might have supported assigning the name to everywhere else on SmashWiki (which allows some speculation to a small degree, I think). Yeah, I tend to agree with Erik. Sakurai does refer to other characters who can use the move; the Tether Recovery functions exactly like the Hookshot and Grapple Beam in SSBM, and I can't imagine any unrevealed characters who have a technique similar to but completely different than the aforementioned items. Oh, and sorry about forgetting the tildes - I seem to do that a lot. >_> WarxePB
But it's true that this would only be as good as complete speculation to post on the SSB articles on the environment of Wikipedia, though. :/ Erik the Appreciator 03:36, August 16, 2007 (EDT)

The way I see it, Wikipedia's the place where policies on verifiability and no original research are immutable and hardcore because it's a serious resource for all types of people in the world, while SmashWiki is more like something that's maintained by the fans for the fans. It's because of that that I see many serious articles on this wiki using terminology invented by the Smash Bros. community, such as the Wavedash and the Black Hole Glitch; these are unofficial and original names made by the Smash Bros. community, but SmashWiki is a database made by and for the community, so those articles are just fine. So if we start seeing the community at SmashBoards using the term Tether Recovery to describe the Link and Samus Melee moves, that should be grounds for modifying the relevant pages here as such. You said it, sister. I do think FnW has a point, though - so I've edited the article as such. Edit as needed to make it look good. WarxePB 03:47, August 16, 2007 (EDT)
That's pretty good! Erik the Appreciator 03:48, August 16, 2007 (EDT)

Now it's official[]

As per This update, it looks like tether recovery is the official name for the wall grapple. It works definetly the same. So Merge? Move? What should we do?--{{SUBST:User:Darkangelsv1/sig}} -- I don't have a sig, so what? 13:40, August 20, 2007 (EDT)

I would support merging the two, but the pages explain the difference between the two concepts - that the tether homes in on a ledge while the wall-grapple is level - so I dunno if others think they should be treated together in one page. Erik the Appreciator 13:49, August 20, 2007 (EDT)
I think they're different enough to warrant separate pages. WarxePB 15:12, October 8, 2007 (EDT)

Merge[]

why does everything have merge on it? Kperfekt722 (talk) 03:14, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Late response, but the pages that have Merge: in their titles were on the wiki before SmashWiki merged with this one. So those articles have to be merged with the ones of the same title.--Richard 20:14, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

grab air[]
