Bad wording in attacks section

I think the attacks should be reworded from "First move", "Second move", ect. to "Move sets". This would increase clarity for those trying to learn his pattern.

Role in Subspace Emissary

Actually if you look closely you will see that Tabuu does not turn Ganondorf into a trouphy put rather pushes him back. Ganondorf, while flying back hits the chains holding master hand which turns him into a trophy while releasing master hand at the same time. Being the last boss, I think a guide to his attacks/a list of recommended strategies would be nice. annoying1359 01:07, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Anyone got his trophy? If so, please add it. 00:57, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

I think how the off-waves work (in battle) is during the time between the last time he used it, and the next time he uses them, he is charging and storing up power, meaning after Sonic attacked him, he lost a large amount of energy, so in battle, the first off-wave is the strongest of that set, second has enough power to still KO, but the third time he has a lack of energy to KO. So this could mean that he has energy that charges up with time, and decreases with attacks, so it could mean that depending on what attack he uses could tell how much energy he has. This is why after exiting his Wing Form, he lags for a period of time, so he must recharge. Learner3 17:29, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Playable Tabuu

I think a weakened version of Tabuu would make a great character for the next smash game; his attacks were pretty powerful, but he would have pretty low defense due to the proportions. --The Lone Voice in the Night (talk) 23:20, August 19, 2013 (UTC)

Tabuu is...

Has anyone noticed that he appears to be some kind of "Evolution" of the Melee wireframes? He even has a smash ball-looking thing inside of his body, and if you listen closely to the final boss music, it's actually a remix of the wireframe's fight music from Melee. (The recognizable rhythm guitar starts at about 33 seconds in) —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs) 16:30, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Most of the boss music is remixed from Melee. And that "core" doesn't look like a Smash logo at all to me. - Gargomon251 22:18, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

The who is tabuu question is something i discussed with a lot of my friends. a recurring joke with my friends is that he's tron, i just call him a boss. i've been wondering long has tabuu controlled master hand? ( since SSB? SSBM? pr right before SSBB? and where was crazy hand during the emissary? )

And people have been saying the last off way is very unlikely to not kill you, that is only true for certain difficulty levels ( normal and below maybe ) at higher difficulties it will kill you just like any of the others. ( I beat him on intense and lost 2 people to a mistimed roll from the 3rd wave )

But this is just my opinion and i expect to be flamed for it.

(Carbonkirby 16:31, 23 April 2008 (UTC))

I think the Subspace Emissary doesn't have anything to do with the previous two games, which didn't have a story to speak of. Same with all the Newcomers. You can't rationalize their sudden existence.- Gargomon251 17:29, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

i was throwing out theorys. but i really would like to know how did nintendo end up with the tabuu we know. like why he looks the way he does and what made them decide to make him anyway.

(Carbonkirby 01:13, 24 April 2008 (UTC))

I think the Emissary is a SSB universe retcon. Notice how in Melee and Brawl, they are trophies, but puppets in 64. Tabuu (supposedly supposed to be Taboo) and Brawl's Final Destination could be Earth with the wire frame as a projection of Taboo's possible human state. (Enzeru 15:18, 25 April 2008 (UTC))

Just another theory I always liked to think of. Since the playable characters are puppets/trophies or figures I always imagined that super smash brothers was all inside a person's imagination, making their toys fight each other for their own entertainment, much like a child with action figures. To further the analogy then master and crazy hand would literally be the player's hands, and I would assume they are right handed to lead to crazy hand's strange behavior. Which now leads to Tabuu controlling the hand which would make me think.. possibly the analogy of video games taking over play time instead of toys and figures? Especially given that he's made of energy and seems a lot like something from Tron. Anyways, just my two cents, take from it what you will. -Ndoki —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs) 03:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I always thought that it was in a kid's imagination , like the person above me said. I thought that master hand's the kid's right hand, crazy hand's left, and tabuu's the kid himself. Solar flute (talk)

My friend said he unlocked Tabuu with beating him 3 times with Wolf. Is this true?

Your friend is lying SO badly... Gold3263301 (talk)

I agree. It seems to be an evolution of what the child is playing with. The child was playing with dolls and so took the form of a puppeteer hand, and now older, he is playing them in video games and has taken the form of a Tron-user. The statues are really just their 3d-meshes. One might think the young man is deleting his nintendo games from his system, and he imagines (or programs) the nintendo characters fighting back.

I have a theory about him as well; My Theory is that Tabuu was the original God(or controller) of the SSB universe, until Master hand came along. The two fought and MS won,Tabuu and founded the Subspace Army and Took control of MS as some type of revenge. I know it doesn't make any sense, but that is what I think happened,at least.

I'm with Ndoki. -Your Buddy Bill aka

I sort of suspected that it was a bit darker than that. Whereas the Master Hand and Crazy Hand are the child's creative impulses and destructive impulses, Tabuu is really more a form of nostalgia. The first game was the child playing with his toys, as represented by the Master Hand setting up these mock battles and then participating in them itself. The second game was the child conflicted about toys and video games, with the Wireframes being games and Crazy Hand showing up. Brawl then, is what happens when the child starts to lose his imagination as he grows older and jaded. Tabuu has no creativity of its own, so it binds the Master Hand and steals its creations, ripping pieces of them into subspace, a void of no imagination. He also possesses the ability to instantly return a character to trophy form, rejecting them. The child is bitter about maturing, and the toys and games fight back in a sort of metaphorical battle to save the child's creative spirit. It makes a bit of sense then, that King Dedede, the ruler of DREAM Land, is the one who creates the devices that can reanimate the characters after a certain amount of time. Dreams are the child's respite from the burdens of reality. - Aoeniac (talk)

Could someone move that line out of the photo of taboo, or is it stuck there? 14:24, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

I've looked at those pictures multiple times and see no line. maybe it's just your computer acting up? or someone may have changed it by now. Carbonkirby 08:03, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Dragon Laser? Or Dark Cannon?

The attack unofficially called "Dragon Laser" states that Tabuu "takes out a gun in the shape of a dragon's head". I think it's more shaped like a Dark Cannon, don't you think? --Darkangelsv1 -- :P 19:22, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Not really. Besides, it has a totally different beam and effect. The only similarities are the vague dragon shape. - Gargomon251 22:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
it looks sorta looks like a dark cannon but keep in mind why would they attack be a dark cannon if his off waves do the exact same thing? ( off waves do it way better too ). many people call it the dragon laser (and it widely accepted ) simply because it looks like a dragon's head. Carbonkirby 14:44, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Behind the Gloves

Is Tabuu the person behind the Master and Crazy hands?Who controls them? —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs) 03:17, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Did anyone notice this?

Several days ago when I was trying to cap Tabuu as a trophy and Lucario was last in line, I notice that my character (Lucario) got permanently stuck beneath Tabuu's feet and I couldn't free myself until he finally killed me. I think it occured when I was trying to dodge his "whip attack" (or was it his "bracket grab"). Anyways, if anyone can film this kind of glitch, I'll be glad to mention this in the Tabuu page.--Dark Paladin X (talk) 22:09, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Something Interesting

There's a rumor going around that he was based on, at least in name, the infamously stupid Rare game for the NES called Taboo: The Sixth Sense. Tabuu doesn't actually appear as a character, but it could be a possible name thing. -Anonymous

Resemblances to Giygas

I noticed that Tabuu resembles Giygas in at least two ways. But it's not that exciting, probably just two references to another boss, because Tabuu already resembles Marx and other bosses. Anyway, pay attention to Tabuu's theme song. It starts out with a rather slow and "calm" beat, and then warps to a harder and more agitated beat. When fighting Giygas in EarthBound, the song starts out calm and weird, and suddenly starts rockin'. Another similarity I noticed (albeit smaller) is that Tabuu's Off Waves look something like "the attack whose true form cannot be grasped" by Giygas: Their aspect is a red circle of energy that grows from the middle to the edges of the screen. Anyway, don't take these 2 resemblances too seriously. like I said, they could be just another reference and not much else. If so, it can be added to the first trivia point. {EspyoT} 08:49, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

I got his trophy, it was alot of hard work, but I got it using King Dedede,Yoshi,Ike,Snake,Pit,and Sonic.I didn't even USE Pit or Sonic,Which has good Trophy Stand producing Stickers.Try throwing the stand at him WHEN he is at the egde of his Stage.( 14:47, May 22, 2010 (UTC))

Ganondorf's Motives

Where did the information from this article come from? My interpretation of Ganondorf's role in Brawl is very different from what's here: That he was tricked by Tabuu, and attacked him in anger. Is there an official source for this?

I had been under the assumption that Ganondorf knew there was someone pulling the strings, and everything he had done up to that point in the story was done with the goal of bringing Tabuu out of hiding so that the 'Dorf could destroy him. Which explains why he nullified Bowser (who would have gotten in the way and possibly sided with Tabuu) and fits in much better with his character. Ganondorf isn't the type of person who would take orders from anyone, for any reason, without his own motives. It doesn't make sense that he would have been loyal to Master Hand in the first place.

Or maybe what's in the article is from some official source and the storyline just plain doesn't make sense. In which case, shut my mouth. Xelrog T. Apocalypse 03:00, August 11, 2014 (UTC)

Can kirby's rock move survive tabuu's off waves?

can they? i was once supersonnic when i was versing my friend who was kirby and he kept spamming the rock so it took me forever to kill him, but in the end, he was "too slow"

Nope. Believe me, I've tried. PSI Seven (talk) 15:26, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

Okay, so as many times as I've tried, I have found Chain of Light and Golden Bracket unavoidable (the latter of which I only avoided once via dumb luck). I'm not entirely sure if this could be added to the page (probably not, given how formal the page is), but if possible, we could include tips on avoiding said attacks.

Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 06:15, September 20, 2016 (UTC)

Just dodge at the right time. When that right time depends on the difficulty but generally it's when the attack is about to hit. Oni Dark Link 08:06, September 20, 2016 (UTC)

You say "dodge at the right time", but given that Tabuu barely telegraphs those two particular attacks, it's almost impossible to find said "right time". Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 07:12, September 23, 2016 (UTC)

It's been quite a while since I fought him but from what I recall he swings the chain around quite dramatically before throwing it and the golden bracket always starts on one side and swoops down before finishing at the same height on the opposite side. Try jumping and air dodging. It certainly isn't impossible. Far from it. Have a look at some videos of people fighting him on Intense. Oni Dark Link 08:06, September 23, 2016 (UTC)

Also, the hitboxes of Chain of Light are really inconsistent. Sometimes I'm on the ground, far from the chain itself, and he still manages to hit me! Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 15:20, September 23, 2016 (UTC)
