Stunt Race FX, known in Japan as Wild Trax (ワイルドトラックス), is a cartoon-style, 3D-racing video game developed by Nintendo EAD with the assistance of Argonaut Software and published by Nintendo for the Super NES. It was one of two games for the system to run on the Super FX chip (the other being Star Fox).
Originally released in 1994 for the SNES, Stunt Race FX was also re-released through Nintendo Switch Online on September 5, 2019.
Representation in Super Smash Bros.
Two of the playable vehicles in Stunt Race FX, the F-Type and the Tractor Trailer, appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as stickers. They later reappear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as spirits. For some odd reason, their origin game is listed as Wild Trax in the North American version of Brawl, and Stunt Race FX in the European version.
There is an empty music track filename in Brawl's files labelled "snd_bgm_R01_WILDTRACKS", which is assumed to be part of this universe, since Wild Trax is the Japanese name for Stunt Race FX. However, the file itself is empty, as with other unused music files.
