Soaring Axe Kick (天地キック) is the Mii Brawler's default Up Special Move. The Mii Brawler flies upward with their leg outstretched, then comes down to deal a large axe kick.

In Ultimate, It's axe kick can be activated manually by pressing the button again, rather than automatically down, and travels a bit higher, and if the button is not pressed again, the Mii Brawler goes into freefall, allowing it drift further horizontally for recovery.

Overview

Strengths:

  • Meteor smashes opponents
  • Some good damage and launch

Weaknesses:

  • Terrible horizontal recovery
  • Is easy to SD with
  • Easy to punish due to high ending lag

The Soaring Axe Kick is a move for players that like a recovery that is a bit risky but can yield some great rewards if used correctly. The risks come in the move's high ending lag when it is used on-stage, making Mii Brawler vulnerable to punishes; the move's terrible horizontal movement makes it poor for recovering from far away, so it is recommended that Mii Brawler is equipped with a good horizontal recovery move to balance this fact. The move goes up and back down much like Kirby's Final Cutter, so the move is easy to SD with if a Mii Brawler doesn't grab the edge while recovering. The rewards come in the move's good attack options; the axe kick on the way down will meteor-smash opponents hit by it, so the move can be good for getting kills and guarding edges because of this; on top of this, the move also has some good damage and launch to back it up, though it should still not be spammed so as to avoid be punished.
