Distant Planet is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl representing the Pikmin series. As such, it is the home stage of Olimar and his Pikmin. Set on the otherwise unnamed Pikmin home planet, the stage consists of a slanted hill on the left and a series of vines and leaves in the center. The plant-based platforms are slightly bouncy. Occasionally, a Bulborb will walk up on the right side of the stage, and landing on its head or in its mouth will likely result in a self-destruct as it drags the character beyond the blast line. Rainstorms will also occur, causing a rush of water down the hill. (more...)

- The original Super Smash Bros., and the series as a whole, celebrates its 22nd anniversary.
- December 22, 2020
- v10.1.0 is now live for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, adding a new version of Cloud's Final Smash, Mii Fighter Costumes of Tifa, Barret, Aerith, Chocobo, and Geno, and the formal release of Sephiroth and the Northern Cave for those unable to unlock him early.
- December 17, 2020
- Sephiroth is announced to be released on December 22nd. A limited-time mode, the Sephiroth Challenge will let players unlock access to Sephiroth and the Northern Cave stage early.
- December 10, 2020
- Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII was revealed to be the ninth DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with a proper gameplay demonstration by Masahiro Sakurai to be held the following December 17th.
