Revision as of 17:21, 12 January 2008

Currently, some of the text is copied from the Nintendo Wikia, though once this is finished it'll be entirely exclusive. If anything looks strange, then please say so. Also - not all of the characters have been added yet, so please wait!
Mario
Character info The mascot for Nintendo and the character rightfully deemed the most popular person in the video game industry. His recognizable face is known almost everywhere, and his games are the more successful than any other! An unlikely hero, he shows off his true strength in Brawl by pummeling some of the most powerful players without a sweat.
A classic character whose balance and maneuverability make him a perfect beginner's choice. File:Mario s.jpg
  • Final Smash: Mario Finale is when Mario will launch an attack that'll send fireballs across the whole stage.
  • Up Special Ability: Super Jump Punch is a jump punch that can be used to get back on the stage.
  • Standard Special Ability: Fireball is Mario's trademark fireball. It disappears as it slows.
  • Side Special Ability: Cape is when Mario pulls out his cape to reflect projectiles back at opponents.
  • Down Special Ability: F.L.U.D.D. is when Mario pulls out F.L.U.D.D and blows the enemies away with his blast of water.
  • Grab:Not Shown
  • Entrance: Mario comes out of a warp pipe.
Role in adventure mode

At the beginning of the game, Mario and Kirby have a friendly fight, and ends up winning. After this, a bomb is dropped on the stage, and Mario gets shot miles away by a cannon. Pit revives him and the two go out to save the day.

Link
Character info At first, it may seem like not too much has changed with Link, though really a lot has. First and foremost are probably the updated special attacks that Link can launch, almost all of which have changed in one way or another. Most of the changes are based around themes from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, a brilliant addition to the popular franchise.
A slow though nevertheless manageable character who has a variety of weapons. File:Link s.jpg
  • Final Smash: Triforce Slash is when Link will summon two Triforce symbols encompassing an enemy, then quickly will slash them with his sword.
  • Up Special Ability: Spin Attack - Link spins around with his sword. It can also be used to be thrusted upwards.
  • Standard Special Ability: Hero's Bow - Link fires a quick arrow with his bow. This move may be charged.
  • Side Special Ability: Gale Boomerang - Link throw his boomerang which will cause any of his opponents he hits to spin around.
  • Down Special Ability: Barnes' Bombs - Link throws a bomb made by Barnes. It will blow up if not throw quickly.
  • Grab: Clawshot is when Link clings onto something with a claw attached to a chain.
  • Entrance: Link arrives in a whirlwind.
Role in adventure mode

An image and a short film has shown Link teaming up with Yoshi to take down the Halberd.

Kirby
Character info Some may wander why the developers made Kirby such a paramount character in the game, but the reason is blatant - HAL, the creators of the series, are well known for creating the pink puffball, and fans of the Kirby series (such as myself) will greatly notice the similarities between the two different series.
This puffball character is capable of multi-jumping and copying his opponent's abilities. File:Kirby s.jpg
  • Final Smash:Cook Kirby is when Kirby will trap one of his opponents in a boiling pot, thus giving its name "Cook Kirby". Food itens may also appear out of the stock in the pot.
  • Up Special Ability: Final Cutter is when Kirby soars into the sky with a sword, then slashes downward with it, that unleashes a shockwave.

Role in adventure mode

Role in adventure mode - Near the beginning, he must save one of the two princesses from Petey Piranha, where they'll then crash land on Meta Knight's Halberd.

Pikachu
Character info "Pika Pika" has been literally cemented into my rotten, video game filled brain. I've heard that annoying squeak so many times, but it's certainly one of the most recognized voices in gaming. The most popular Pokémon, Pikachu has always appeared in the series, and I'm sure that no one can imagine a Smash game without number 25.
Unarguably the most popular Pokémon is back, though he's essentially the same as before. File:Pikachu s.jpg
  • Final Smash: Volt Tackle will cause Pikachu to turn into a ball of electricity and ram into any opponents.
  • Up Special Ability: Quick Attack is when Pikachu disappears and reappears in the direction you pointed in after pressing "B-Up".

  • Side Special Ability: Skull Bash is a charge move in which Pikachu charges his attack, then flies foward like a rocket in the direction you were facing.
  • Down Special Ability: Thunder is when Pikachu summons a bolt of lightning to come down towards him and hurt surrounding oppoents.
  • Grab: Not Shown
  • Entrance: Pikachu comes out of a Poké Ball.
Role in adventure mode

Role in adventure mode - Has been seen teaming up with Samus.

Samus Aran
Character info Samus Aran is back, and she possibly has the biggest update of all the characters for a sole reason (well, a few, but there's one prominent one that surpasses the others). What's the reason? She can transform into an entirely different formation, just like Zelda can transform into Sheik. Samus' basic abilities haven't changed much, though she is slightly slower than the Samus of Melee. Information on Zero Suit Samus will be shown farther down in the newcomers section.
While most of her attacks are returning, she is now able to transform into Zero Suit Samus. File:Samus s.jpg
  • Final Smash: Zero Laser is Samus' ultimate laser that fires from one side of the screen, but reverts to her Zero Suit mode immediately afterwards.

Yoshi
Character info

Yoshi is either a character that you love to play as or you hate to play as. It'll take hours and hours of practice to learn how to execute Yoshi's moves correctly, though following this you'll begin to love him. Not much has changed this time around other than the developers giving him a third jump and giving the dino a new updated look contrary to that of Melee.

A speedy character that, until Brawl, lacked a thrid jump. File:Yoshi s.jpg
  • Final Smash: Super Dragon showcases some of Yoshi's color abilities first seen in Super Mario World. Spreading his wings, Yoshi will temporarily gain the ability to fly . He will also demonstrate his ability to breathe fire as a stream and to project fireballs across the screen .

Donkey Kong
Character info

Donkey Kong is known for his potent attacks and incredible lack of feebleness. He's one of the strongest characters in the game, though this also makes him a heavy and slow member of the Smash Bros. crew. He's a humorous monkey who's sole article of clothing is a necktie with his classic "DK" logo printed on the front.

One of Nintendo's first characters is returning with a new appearance. File:Donkeykong s.jpg

It may take a long while until you're able to master her, though when you do you'll be able to unleash her true powers. Princess Zelda
Character info

Princess Zelda... currently, we don't know how dramatic her changes are, and as of this moment, it hasn't been confirmed whether or not she is capable of changing into Sheik. Nevertheless, her magical attacks (all based on special items from Ocarina of Time) are very powerful, more so that Sheiks, and are able to send players soaring off off of small and large stages alike.

Bowser
Character info

Bowser is the heaviest character in the game, which will cause him to be very slow. While he's certainly not the most popular player, he does have a few pro playing fans who'll often times use him, though mastering him will take a while. He's the King Koopa and the ruler of Bowser's Kingdom. He often times makes attempts to kidnap Princess Peach, though his plans are ultimately always thwarted by Mario.

The King Koopa is, according to the website, the heaviest of all fighters. File:Bowser s.jpg

They're hard to master in the video game, and if you loose Nana, then Popo will have to fight alone. If you loose Popo, then it results in you loosing a life. Alone, Popo does not fare well, though together they're pros.
