Shot Put (鉄球投げ) is the Mii Brawler's default Neutral Special Move. The Mii Brawler throws a shot put ball at short range, dealing a fairly large amount of damage and knockback to anyone hit. Like any normal projectile, the ball can be reflected. The ball will roll down slopes and ramps, increasing the range of the attack and giving Mii Brawler an advantageous high ground position on opponents.

Overview[]

Strengths:

  • Mii Brawler's only projectile move
  • Great on slopes and high ground
  • Good edge-guarding move
  • Good amount of damage and knockback

Weaknesses:

  • Slow to start; some starting lag
  • Slow attack speed makes it hard to spam
  • Leaves Mii Brawler open to punishes

Shot Put is an excellent move if a player wants a Mii Brawler that can attack from farther away, as Shot Put is the only projectile attack Mii Brawler can equip. The move has some starting and ending lag and the projectile is a bit slow, so the move cannot be easily spammed and Mii Brawler can be left open for punishes during the lag. The projectile goes in an arc and will roll down slopes and ramps, making it a great tool to keep opponents at bay when Mii Brawler has the high ground; the attack also deals some decent damage and knockback, making it a valuable tool for edge-guarding.

Origin[]

While it has no direct origin, it could be a call-back of sorts to the Wii Sports games since the shot put ball used in the attack is a track and field sports equipment.
