Poliwhirl (ニョロゾ Nyorozo) is a Water-Type Pokémon from the Pokémon universe.
Creature description[]
A moderately large dark-blue bipedal water creature with arms and a spiral belly pattern that has reversed direction from its earlier form, Poliwag. The Pokédex states that it can live in or out of water, and though a skilled walker thanks to its now well-developed legs, it prefers to stay in the water. If it is out of water, it sweats an oily fluid to keep its skin moist and slimy (though the skin on its belly spiral feels smooth). Because of this greasy covering, it can easily slip and slide out of the clutches of any enemy in battle. The swirl on its belly subtly undulates, and staring at it gradually causes drowsiness; it uses the belly spiral to put the foe to sleep, then makes its escape.
It evolves either into Poliwrath by using a Water Stone on it, or into Politoed by trading it to another player's game cartridge while it is equipped with the item King's Rock.

Poliwhirl appears only as a trophy that, like many others, can be obtained randomly from the Lottery or one of the single-player modes.
Trophy description[]
Poliwhirl is a Tadpole Pokémon able to live on either land or in the water. When on dry land, it's constantly sweating to keep its skin nice and slimy. When in danger, it spins the whirlpool marking on its stomach to put enemies into a deep sleep, then it runs away. It evolves into either Poliwrath or Politoed.
