Announced at E3 2006, Pit (ピット, Pitto) is a character appearing in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He uses a bow and arrow as a weapon, and it can also split into 2 small blades. Pit's arrows shoot out like beams of light when fired, and the curve of the arrows' trajectory can be controlled by the player, by pressing up or down. This is called Palutena Arrow. Pit can jump in mid-air multiple times, but like Kirby and Jigglypuff, he will fall after time. In addition, Pit's Up-B move, known as the Wings of Icarus, allows him to fly freely for a brief period of time. It is currently unknown whether or not this move is capable of causing damage, or whether Pit is able to attack while flying. He will also, like Meta-Knight, have a multi-hit aerial attack. Like Meta Knight and Charizard, Pit is able to glide.

SWF members at E for All have stated Pit's Special Down move is his Mirror Shield and can reflect any attack, even attacks like Sonic's Spin Dash attack.

For Pit's On-Screen Appearance, he rides down on a beam of light from above.

Role in the Subspace Emissary

After witnessing the invasion of the Subspace Army from above, the goddess Palutena sends Pit to attack the Subspace Army, giving him her Arrows. He eventually meets and teams up with Mario, after battling through a Greap. Mario, stuck in trophy form, is awakened by Pit and become a team to fight off the Subspace Army.
