Peach Bomber (ピーチボンバー, Peach Bomber) is Princess Peach's and Daisy's Side Special Move. Peach attacks by lunging her butt towards her opponents and blasts them with a powerful explosion. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, the explosion had fiery effects, but since Brawl, it was changed to hearts. Daisy wields an identical move named Daisy Bomber where the effects are daisies rather than hearts.

Overview[]

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, using the Peach Bomber on most walls will cause Peach to rise upward a tad. This can help with recovery on stages with vertical walls, such as Yoshi's Story and Fourside. The technique can also be used to stall a match, as Peach can continue to bomb the walls, keeping her alive and out of range from most other characters who would be KO'd if they were to try to go and attack her. Use of the technique in this fashion is banned in most tournaments.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it has been altered visually to have a heart-shaped explosion when the attack connects, rather than a normal explosion. This version of the attack covers more distance than in Melee, but has more startup lag. Peach Bomber can no longer be used to bomb walls for vertical height gain. However, if a wall is destructible, such as those in Shadow Moses Island, Peach can still rise a tad upward.

Custom Variations[]

Flower Bomber[]

Flower Bomber will put flowers on opponents' heads if they are hit, but if it misses Peach will be open to attacks.

Strengths:

  • Deals repeated damage over time
  • Can combo into itself two to five times
  • Combo into and out of multiple other moves

Weaknesses:

  • Higher ending lag if Peach misses.
  • Less horizontal distance.
  • Deals less damage.
  • Left open to attacks if the move misses.

Peach's Flower Bomber is beneficial in that it can quickly rack on damage on opponents during combos in addition to any other attacks Peach throws out. The Flower Bomber can combo into itself at least twice on lighter characters and up to five times on heavier characters if the opponent does not jump out of it or employ defensive maneuvers. The move covers less distance but is a bit faster because of this, allowing Peach to easily integrate it during a combo at close range. Flower Bomber combos out of down throw, down tilt, forward tilt, back aerial, down aerial, and neutral aerial and can combo into forward tilt, dash attack, forward aerial, back aerial and neutral aerial. The move can be useful when hitting a prone opponent since the opponent will be launched sideways and land on the ground again, taking damage from the flower during this time, and is once again left prone on the ground for a second Flower Bomber, and this method, if a player is fast enough, can be effective for carrying an opponent across the stage and then edge-guarding them with other moves. The decrease in range of the attack makes the move poor for recovery and the high ending lag when it misses makes it an easy attack to punish. The initial hit deals less damage and the accumulated damage from the flower is less than that of the Peach Bomber but this is hardly noticeable when the attack is used mid-combo. The Flower Bomber is a high-risk high-reward move and masters of this custom variation will be able to use it to easily rack up damage on opponents and then go in for the kill.

Flying Peach Bomber[]

Flying Peach Bomber, Peach rises in the air before she delivers her butt bash. It is harder to land, but it's more powerful.

Strengths:

  • Starts up faster
  • Higher horizontal distance
  • Deals more damage
  • Combo finisher

Weaknesses:

  • High ending lag
  • Difficult to hit
  • Left open to attacks if the move misses.

Flying Peach Bomber is another high-risk high-reward custom variation of the Peach Bomber. It goes farther than the Peach Bomber but also travels in a gradual upwards path, which can make it useful for getting back to the stage, but it has high ending lag, so when used in the air Peach is unable to jump or attack for a few seconds after the move ends. The move can combo out of down throw, down tilt, forward tilt, and down aerial as a combo finisher. The move's high damage and launch power make it difficult to combo out of, though the Vegetable could be thrown at the launched opponent to extend the combo. Though the move has good launch power it cannot reliably K.O until 180%. It can be difficult to hit an opponent with the move since it travels upwards and the high ending lag can make it easy to punish; however, if used on an opponent right next to Peach the attack will connect, or, after using the down throw, a short hop can be used and then the move can be used in the direction of the opponent and the move will travel up towards the opponent and connect.
