Pit calls to the goddess Palutena for her army of Centurions (He shouts "All troops! Move out!"). An enormous image of Palutena will appear in the sky (which is transparent on most stages, but is easier seen on stages such as Final Destination). The Centurions fly onto screen ramming into other players at incredibly high speeds. When hit by a Centurion, the opponent takes a range of 15-25%. Each Centurion makes a single attack to a character, and then falls in battle. During the course of the attack, Pit is not bound to a position. Therefore, he is free to move and attack as he pleases. However, unlike most characters, he is not invincible during his Final Smash except during the animation where he summons his troopers. A good tactic to use when fighting against one opponent is to trap your foe with Angel Ring and let all the Centurions home in on him. When fighting against an opponent using this, you can attack some Centurions to prevent them from attacking, but it is better to dodge, though a Smart Bomb is useful for eliminating multiple threats. This move is very similar to Waddle Dee Army.

Once a Centurion strikes an enemy, he falls from the sky, never to fly again. Centurions are so fast that dodging them is very hard. Take heart, Centurions! Your deaths are not in vain!

The Final Smash is replaced by Three Sacred Treasures, but a trophy remains of the centurions.
The standard soldiers of Palutena's Army, Centurions make up in loyalty and number for what they lack in power. They have time and time again fallen victim to a curse that turns them to stone, but the head of Palutena's guard, Pit, saves them with the use of a stone-breaking mallet.
In the original Kid Icarus for the NES, the Centurions played a large role in boss fortresses. On those particular levels, Pit could find hammers and use them to break open statues scattered around the area, freeing the Centurion trapped inside. When Pit eventually reaches the boss chamber, any Centurions that he rescued will fly in and attack the enemy. This is where the Palutena's Army attack concept is taken from. Just like in Brawl, the Centurions in Kid Icarus would perish after being hit a single time, though they could attack repeatedly in the original game and present a valuable offensive asset of being able to chip away large amounts of health when rallied into greater numbers. They did not return for the sequel--Centurion statues are present, but they only hold items now.
- If Pit has a Teammate, they will be able to defeat the Centurions, despite Pit not being able to.
- In NTSC versions of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a CPU Pit will just spam his Palutena's Arrow attack when he uses his Final Smash, even at Level 9 difficulty, in the same way that a Luigi CPU using Negative Zone will spam his fireball. This bug was supposedly fixed for the PAL release of the game.
- Pit's Final Smash trophy is one of the few of its kind to not feature the character themselves.
