Olimar (オリマ) is a veteran fighter in , first playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate . He was confirmed during the E3 2018 Conference on June 12, 2018. Alph also returns as his palette swap.

When unlocked, he is fought at
Pikmin can be thrown to damage opponents directly or apply a small bleed on them.
Small size which allows to dodge some projectiles easier.
Has five different types of Pikmin which give different strengths and bonuses.
Extremely lightweight, meaning that Olimar can die easily from knockback.
Needs his Pikmin to use most of his moveset. Each Pikmin also affects Olimar's strength and range and micromanaging is needed to select the desired Pikmin as the lead follower.
Winged Pikmin's distance varies greatly depending on what Pikmin are following Olimar. Three purple Pikmin will greatly reduce his ability to recover
Pikmin can be killed, forcing Olimar to call for more.
Changes from SSBWU/3DS
When Olimar takes damage, his helmet gets cracked, but fixes itself in a few moments.
Grabs and Throws
Olimar's grab uses all of his current Pikmin to grab the opponent; damage of pummels and throws may change depending on how many Pikmin Olimar currently has.
Neutral Attack (Tornado Attack): one-two punch
Forward Tilt: long windup that results in giant hand slap
Up Tilt: leap up a short distance, inflicting damage on both sides; nearby grounded foes in range are caught and launched up
Down Tilt: forward slide accompanied by headbutt
Dash Attack: cartwheel attack, popping foes up
Note: Purple and red Pikmin do the most damage.
Forward Smash (Pikmin Dash): fast attack that has Olimar flinging Pikmin
Up Smash: flips next available Pikmin upward that has initial front strike
Down Smash: sends a Pikmin out on either side to strike; fastest of his smashes

Neutral aerial: spin attack with most body parts causing damage; quick-striking with long duration
Forward aerial: overhead forward strike made by grabbing a pikmin by its stem
Back aerial: backward upward strike made by grabbing a pikmin by its stem
Up aerial: upward strike made by grabbing a pikmin by its stem
Down aerial: downward strike made by grabbing a pikmin by its stem

If any Spirits that boost fire attacks are used on Olimar, his forward Smash when used with the red Pikmin has extremely high knockback, sometimes even being an OHKO.
