Nosferatu is a great move if Robin is at a higher percentage and needs to close the gap between himself and an opponent. It can surprise opponents that are making fast frontal approaches, it can combo out of Arcthunder, and it can be a good way to rack some damage on an opponent near the edge (this shouldn't be done if Robin is the one recovering, or he'll be left helpless and die). If Robin is in need of a Nosferatu, he should not only go for that or he'll exhaust his supply as well as leave himself open; wait until the opponent is open and then hit them with it.

Heal percentage: 12%-13% if the enemy is caught until the end of the attack animation. 16% if hitting the enemy from behind. Additionally, it heals more if Robin's percentage is much higher than the opponent's.

Nosferatu is Robin's only move that uses a Dark tome. It is Robin's Down Special Move. Nosferatu has a durability value of 4 and respawns after roughly 35 seconds of being depleted.

Overview

Robin fires a blast of dark magic from his hand which reaches a small distance. Anyone caught in it will be trapped and repeatedly damaged. This move can be used to heal Robin, too.

Trivia

  • In Fire Emblem: Awakening Dark Magic like Nosferatu and Goetia can only be used by Dark Mages and Sorcerers, however Robin appears as their starting class, the Tactician.
    • Dark Magic can also be used by units with the Shadowgift Skill, however, Robin can't get the Skill in the game, only the male Robin's daughter Morgan can if he married Aversa, who does have the Skill.
  • Nosferatu is the first ability in the Super Smash Bros. series that recovers damage and give damage to other characters at the same time.
  • In his reveal trailer, Robin attacking Palutena with Nosferatu may be an inside joke because Palutena is the goddess of light and she is being attacked by darkness.
  • Nosferatu is a Romanian word usually treated as a synonym for vampire.
  • Goetia is derived from the Greek word meaning "sorcery".
