Mites (マイト Maito?) are recurring enemies in the Super Smash Bros. series, first appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Mites are small, yellow, red, or green stick-figure creatures with heads resembling the Subspace Army logo. They resemble Mr. Game & Watch in terms of movement and stance. They use melee attacks, which inflict minor damage (3-5%) and appear to have fixed or very little knockback. Mites usually attack with an aerial attack resembling a Sex Kick. Mites are sometimes spawned en masse from Generators indefinitely, until the player's fighter destroys the Generator. Mites can be defeated on their own easily, usually from only a single hit, but are dangerous in high numbers. Down attacks are the most effective way to defeat Mites.

Name origin[]

Mite's name is the word mite, meaning something of little weight.

Mites are enemies in Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, serving under the Subspace Army. They are first encountered in the Sea of Clouds. Mites appear in their green, red, and yellow varieties, all of which behave identically, although red Mites appear to be immune to flame and explosive attacks, like with Fire Primids.

While Mites usually inflict minimal knockback, this is increased significantly in higher difficulty levels, which also increases the damage accordingly accordingly. On Hard difficulty, Mites knock fighters about a third of the screen's width.

Description
NTSC: Pitiful little enemies that carry the Subspace Army symbols right there on their heads--rather, the symbols ARE their heads! They're paper thin--nope, no depth at all. There are three different colors--red, green, and yellow--and all have white hands and feet. Their moves can best be described by the phrase "try really hard." They're weak, but they...try really hard.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[]

Mites return as common enemies in Smash Run, where they appear in large numbers or if a Generator is nearby. Only yellow Mites return, despite some other enemies appearing in color varieties, such as Shy Guys and Koopa Troopas. Yellow Mites behave identically to the Mites in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Like the other enemies in Smash Run mode, Mites appear in the form of a trophy, which depicts all three color variations.

Description
NTSC: These foes are part of the Subspace Army from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They're paper thin and can easily escape a fighter's grasp. If you get too close, they'll jump-kick, but by themselves they don't pose much of a threat. Getting caught by a group of them, though, can mean some serious pain.

PAL: These stick-figure foes' heads are the symbol of the Subspace Army from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When one gets near you, it'll leap up from aaall the way down there and do a flying kick. On their own, they're easy to handle, but groups can be overwhelming. Their sleek form also lets them slip free easily when you grab them.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

Mites appear in the form of a spirit, which depicts a yellow, a green, and a red Mite, all posed identically as in their trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. The corresponding Spirit Battle can take place either from Adventure Mode: World of Light, near the Base sub-dungeon in the Light Realm, or from the Spirit Board. The Spirit Battle features nine tiny Mr. Game & Watches as the opponents, and it takes place on the Shadow Moses Island stage.
