“ | An iron minecart will travel along the rails. Powered rails can be placed with the right materials. If empty, the minecart will carry an enemy away. | ” |
—Description from Ultimate's Move List. |
Minecart is Steve and Alex's side special move.
Overview[]
Upon activation, a Minecart will materialize and Steve will automatically get inside and ride forward or backward as they place tracks during the move's duration. They can also exit the Minecart at any time and can reenter twice; if the empty cart runs into an opponent, they will be caught as if they have been buried and can even happen in the air. Building a Minecart requires one piece of Iron and can be broken by opponents; if Steve breaks his own Minecart, they can regain the Iron back. Minecarts can also be reflected, making it a pseudo-projectile.
Building the rails will require a large amount of materials as it will eat up collected inventory very quickly. The rails will use the lowest quality material available in the Material Gauge first, starting with Dirt, then Wood, Stone, and Iron. If all have run out, the Minecart's momentum will slow to a halt once outside of the rail. However, on a stage with an abundance of Iron (such as Corneria and Venom), the Minecart will keep its momentum once it has exited the rails simply due to being made of pure Iron.
A Powered Rail can also be made to speed up and increase the damage of the Minecart. However, it will now require heavy use of Gold and Red Stone to make the rails. Another key difference between a regular Minecart and a powered one is that, when rode on, it will ram into multiple opponents as it goes on, with the potential to KO. A Powered Rail can also help the Minecart climb up escalated terrain, whereas a normal rail will have trouble.
Origin[]
Minecarts and rails are craftable items in Minecraft. In the game, one Minecart can be crafted with 5 iron ingots and one rail piece requires 6 iron ingots and 1 stick. Minecarts are the more common and dependable forms of transportation in the series, allowing players to travel through vast caves and to villages and other notable locations. Mobs are also capable of riding Minecarts if they are pushed into it.
A Powered Rail is an enhanced version of a regular rail and requires 6 iron ingots, 1 stick, and Redstone dust, When activated by a Redstone torch (which itself requires 1 stick and Redstone dust), it boosts the speed of a Minecart, allowing it to traverse steep hills and mountainsides with ease.
