The Miiverse universe refers to the Smash Bros. series' collection of properties originating from the Miiverse social network.
Miiverse originated as an app for the Wii U on November 18, 2012 alongside the console's launch. Users could use the app to make, "Yeah" (like), and flag posts and comments, follow and befriend other users. It was later made available on the 3DS and web browsers on December 8th, 2013 with largely similar features. It ended on November 7th, 2017 for both systems, displaying a notification error upon entering the app.
Upon entering Miiverse online, a message will gave thanks to its users for using the service as Miiverse "ended as of 11/8/2017". As a token of thanks to its users, Nintendo created a "Thank You" mosaic using handwritten posts from Miiverse. The picture itself can be enlarged by viewers to see each individual post making up the mosaic.
The Miiverse universe was represented by a single stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
- Miiverse: A stage similar in layout to Battlefield, with a single large platform and three small, soft platforms. However, posts from Miiverse will appear in the background based on the fighters in the match.
Elements from or in the Super Smash Bros. series
The Miiverse stage's green and white color scheme resembles the interface and color scheme of the social network. In addition, the concept of player-made drawings appearing on the stage is based on - and made possible by - the ability to post drawings or handwritten text on Miiverse using the Wii U GamePad or 3DS bottom screen.
Miiverse also features several communities for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, including those for photo contests, in which users must submit images of the Photo Studio which match a certain theme. It also used to have a community representing the entire Super Smash Bros. series.
- Miiverse is the only universe with a symbol not represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
