First of all, he screenshotted the original page and enlarged it. This is because when you minimize an image, it loses some of its data. If you try to enlarge after, it will be lower quality (hence why it looks so bad) He then cropped Not Now and Ok and pasted it onto the former picture. You can even see some of the original crop on the top.
Hey, I'm not sure if you're still around, but I'd like to apologize for that fake article I created a little over four years ago prior to Smash 4's release. Lately I have been feeling guilty about a lot of the things I did in the past. That being said, I wish you a wonderful experience with Ultimate's release fast approaching.
It's been quite a while since we've been on the same wiki together ;) Wanted to swing by to let you know that I'll be playing SSBU and contributing to the site - if there's anything in particular you know won't be covered or that you need help with, please let me know!
We also noticed that the wiki is competing not only with external sites, but also with others on the network (nintendo, mario, etc.). To that end, we wanted to suggest making character page tweaks so the site can hopefully be nudged above the others, as it would be sort of annoying for players to land on a site not SSB-centric. I'd be personally handling those tweaks, which mainly consist of some content re-ordering that would help ye olde Google bot pinpoint this site above others. No content will be removed.
In light of how infoboxes were forced on the community, I wanted to assure you that the SEO page tweaks are not mandatory in any way. The site can flat-out reject the notion, accept it in full, or see what tweaks are made and then make changes on top of that. I'll be clear in what the direction is before I even touch a page, though, and won't change anything until you (or another admin) personally give the green light. Hopefully we've worked enough in the past that you can trust my personal assurance ;)
At any rate, please let me know either way - and please let me know what areas might need help when the game is released!
So here's the thought - keep in mind I'm more than happy to do all the heavy lifting:
Page titles: renaming from abbreviation to "Name (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)" <--- ideally change for all games, but focus obviously on SSBU initially
Image names following the same pattern as above
Making sure both the Super Smash Bros franchise and Super Smash Bros Ultimate game are included in the first paragraph - thinking of something along the lines of including first game appearance as well (something similar to how Link is portrayed on the Zelda wiki)
Making sure linking is present and linking internally within the wiki - probably already done, seeing how active everyone is, but going to give it a look
Lists are best for SEO rather than charts/tables. To be honest, lists are less attractive, though :P This is probably best left to you all to figure if there's any charts/tables that could be converted and not look terrible.
Looks like the direction is less page content rearranging after SEO folks took a long look at it and did a comparative analysis of competition, plus our own nintendo/mario/zelda wikis.
I'm personally not going to lose any sleep if charts and tables stay the way they are :P
On another note, would it also be all right if I rearranged the content in the navigation bar? Essentially shifting the more important stuff to the left. Except for "Explore" and "Discuss", things would be flipped.
^I'm not talking about that. Raylan asked "When release does come, is there anything you guys might want me to focus on adding to the site?". I mentioned pages that were lacking information, including the fights for classic mode.
