Master Core (マスターコア Masutā Koa?) is a boss in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. He is the Final Boss of the game's Classic Mode and Master Hand's true form when it is played on 5.1 intensity or higher. Once the player brings Master Hand and Crazy Hand's health to a certain point, Master Hand's glove rips open, releasing a swarm-like substance that transforms into one of five different forms to fight. The player must knock as much of this swarm away as possible to expose the core. The higher the intensity, the denser the substance will be, and the more forms it will use. The HP can't be determined, since the tile is covered by the dense swarm, but it's possible to determine it by seeing how less dense Master Core's Swarm is.
If playing on an intensity 5.1 or above, it will only use its "Master Edge" form and "Master Shadow" form; starting at level 6.0, it will introduce its "Master Beast" form; and starting at level 7.5, its "Master Giant" form will appear. In the Wii U version, after 8.0 difficulty a new form will appear: "Master Fortress".
Forms
Swarm
Swarm is the first form Master Core ever uses. He uses this to transform into any form he has.
Master Giant
The Master Giant form is a large humanoid creature. It appears as Master Core's starting form at Intensity 7.0 and up, it uses its hands to attack and lift the stage. It uses energy ball to attack players as well.
Master Beast
Master Beast is a giant beast that sometimes uses his jaws and it's scorpion-like tail to attack the opponents. It'll often jump to the side and tips the stage. It could also shoot spikes at the player.
Master Edges
Master Edges are sword forms that do fast slash attacks and creates projectiles.
Master Shadow
In the penultimate phase, Master Core forms a bigger copy of the player's character, including utilizing any equipment or Custom Moves the player's character might be using; if the player is using an alternate form of a character, such as a female Robin, male Wii Fit Trainer, and Alph, Master Core will copy these as well. The copy shrinks while fighting. You could defeat it by either knocking it off the stage or dealing enough damage to it.
Master Fortress
The Master Fortress only appears in the Wii U version of the game. Once a player defeats the other forms, they are given a heart container to replenish their health before venturing inside. An extra 3 minutes are also added to the clock to complete this form. The characters need to attack its heart-like cores to open new paths and defeat Master Fortress, who is filled with acid pits and green walls that act as Danger Zones. Enemies will also show up; they look like the enemies from Smash Run.
Master Core
The last form is a rainbow-colored orb resembling the series symbol, which must be knocked out of the blast-zone. It will not initially fight back, but will simply return to the middle of the stage when attacked by the player. However, if it's not knocked out, it will blast the player's character off the stage with its wave attack, an instant K.O. move, but if the player can execute some well timed dodges, it'll eventually give up and explode.

Trivia
- Master Core's humanoid design resembles a Shaydas, but without the blades and only having one head.
- Master Core's wave attack resembles Tabuu's Off Wave attack.
- In a part of Master Core's music, it will play a morse code, which translates to Master Core. [1][2]
- There is a new theory that Master Core is the orb from the center of the large platform in the Battlefield in Melee. The Master Core form is a rainbow-colored orb that attacks with a massive swarm; in Multi-Man Melee, the Battlefield would be where a swarm of Fighting Wire Frames were encountered; this orb is also found in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Battlefield stage, if one manipulates the camera look below the stage. In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, this orb is not found in the Battlefield stage, indicating that the orb is Master Core joining the battle for the first time. Press here for the video on the theory.
- Master Core's Swarm bears a huge resemblance to the Dark Matter from Kirby's Dreamland 2 and 3.
