The following is a list of glitches and exploits in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U that got patched in updates.

Ness Insta-Kill Glitch[]

Performable in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, It could be used by Ness against Wario in Wuhu Island.

How it was performed[]

Ness Insta-Kill

The spot to perform the glitch.

In the boat part of the stage, Ness's Down Throw is used in a certain place (see image). If it was done correctly, the opponent would be KO'd instantly with no reason.

Final Smash Result Screen Glitch[]

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It was discovered by Reddit user Mattardis.

How it was performed[]

The player used a character that has a Transformation Final Smash (making sure the other player had more points than the one who has the Smash Ball) and broke the Smash Ball, waited until the time comes to 2 and then pressed B. If done correctly, the transformed character would appear alongside the winning player on the results screen. It could also be performed by waiting and the transformation running out as the timer does, but this was much harder to perform. The losing player would be able to move around the results screen, after the transformation ran out, and dropped to the ground. It is currently unknown if this glitch was possible on the 3DS version. This worked on Bowser, Wario, Lucario, and Little Mac. It may also have worked on Charizard and Pac-Man.

Sonic Train Glitch[]

Performed in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Stages this Glitch was performable on[]

How it was performed[]

The player waited for a gray train from the front of the train. When it hits, you would go into the little space and start running (as shown below) and Sonic would run through the wall. This also worked with Captain Falcon.

Yoshi Super Jump Glitch[]

Was in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Stages this Glitch is performable on[]

  • The glitch could be done in every stage.

How it was performed[]

Before doing the glitch, the player goes to the Custom section and select Yoshi, go to the Specials section and select Yoshi's Up Special Move, then selects High Jump, and save. Using Yoshi's Ground Pound in the air, and then using High Jump. If done correctly, Yoshi would jump very high and would appear in the upper blast line, but he would not be KO'd because he was not taking hitstun.

Corrupted Master Hand Glitch[]

This occured in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS in Classic Mode. Once the player reaches Master Hand, he becomes stuck in the middle of the stage. He is unable to attack, and the player is unable to damage him.

Bowser's Second Set of Claws[]

This glitch occured in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Stages this glitch was performable on[]

  • Performable on any stage.

How it was performed[]

While using Bowser, you have to run into a Super Mushroom, and then pick up and throw a Crate. If done correctly, Bowser would have a second set of claws, lasting for the entire battle.

T-pose glitch[]

This was in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It was found by Glob on Miiverse and was patched in version 1.1.0.

How the glitch was done[]

By pressing the HOME Button one frame before the victory screen loads, one of the following things may happen:

  • The game might crash.
  • When it goes onto the victory screen, one character or all characters will be in a T-pose.

Some other weird results may happen by not timing it properly like Doc Louis being red and some SFX being disabled Temporarily.

Mewtwo's Custom Moves[]

Before Mewtwo was first released, he was planned to have custom moves like all of the other fighters (excluding the fighters that came out before him), but this was scrapped. However when he was released, it has been revealed he was going to be planned to have them and that partial versions of his Custom Moves exist on both systems.

How it was Activated[]

Mewtwo's Custom Moves could be unlocked in each version by importing a Mii Fighter created on a separate console or handheld. Afterwards, you turned on Custom Fighters and selected the imported Mii. After that, you selected Mewtwo, and a "Random" option would exist under Mewtwo's default fighter. The Custom Move set Mewtwo received would be the same as the Mii's Custom Move set, meaning if the Mii Fighter used its second set of Custom Moves, Mewtwo would access its second set of Custom Moves.

On the 3DS version, the custom Mewtwo could be kept indefinitely, but in the Wii U version the customizations would only last for one play session, meaning another Mould will have to be downloaded in order to access them again. The Custom Moves did not work online.

Custom Moves[]

Neutral Special 2[]

In the 3DS version, this would do nothing besides make Mewtwo do the charging and throwing animations and usually crashed the game.

In the Wii U version, Mewtwo would charge and throw an invisible Shadow Ball and if uncharged Mewtwo will lunge to the right, even if he was facing left, causing damage. However, if charged for too long, Mewtwo would freeze and could not be moved. However, in certain circumstances such as being caught in a Trapping Final Smash, Mewtwo could float up into the air, though he could not be controlled. This is referred to as the Shadow Morph. This could cause a glitch known as Stage Morphing.

Neutral Special 3[]

Uncharged, Mewtwo will fire a Confusion which has no effect and does no damage. If charged too long Mewtwo will again freeze. In the 3DS version, this crashes the game.

Side Special 2[]

This behaves the same way as a normal Confusion.

Side Special 3[]

Mewtwo Side Special 2 Glitch

Captain Falcon is attached to Mewtwo's body.

This will attach the opponent to Mewtwo, meaning Mewtwo will move around with the immobilized opponent attached to his body. Mewtwo can remove them by using Psystrike, but this will render Mewtwo completely invisible.

Up Special 2[]

In the 3DS version, this will cause Mewtwo to do a Teleport animation before firing a Disable. The Disable does not do anything.

In the Wii U version, this crashes the game.

Up Special 3[]

On the ground, Mewtwo will fire a single Disable that will stun the opponent. In the air, Mewtwo can fire as many Disables as he wants.

Down Special 2[]

In the 3DS version, on the ground, Mewtwo will perform a Disable that has no effect. However, in the air, the game will briefly slow down and focus on Mewtwo as he spins around. This will allow Mewtwo to easily follow up with an attack. The animation is very similar to Mewtwo's animation when activating his Final Smash.

In the Wii U version, the same thing will happen when used in the air. However, if Mewtwo uses this on the ground, the game will crash.

Down Special 3[]

This is the same as the second Down Special, but this time Mewtwo was able to slow down the game on the ground as well.

Princess Peach Bans You[]

This glitch is performed in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

How it was performed[]

In the online mode "For Glory", you are not supposed to use items. The vegetable Peach pulls out in her Down Special "Vegetable" is considered as an item, causing numerous players to get banned from playing online for a full day due to "cheating". A Japanese gamer named Mochi live-streamed the game, and was banned on his 12th match for pulling vegetables as Peach. He found out it is much more likely to get banned when you pull vegetables at the very beginning of the match. This glitch was patched in version 1.0.2.

Other[]

  • Pac-Man could perform a "trick" when paired with another Pac-Man that involved both using their Up Special, Pac-Jump, to ascend using the trampolines until they reached past the upper blast line. This is similar to the Luigi Ladder, however they won't be KO'ed since the move doesn't cause damage. However, they would be constantly taking damage from being past the blast zones.

Trivia[]

  • If you used Robin and performed the T-pose glitch, Chrom would be with his model. Doc Louis would still be with Little Mac. The same did not happen for King Dedede.
  • If the glitch was performed by Link or Toon Link, they won't be in a T-Pose but instead appear to run. (It was apparently his T-Pose)
  • If the glitch was performed by R.O.B, he won't be in a T-Pose but instead have his arms out to the front. (It was apparently his T-pose)
