This song is used in Brinstar in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Brawl, and for 3DS, as well as in Norfair in for Wii U. In versions of the song since 3DS/Wii U, the song has been heavily abridged to omit the last section of the song.

It features narration in the intro from Jay Ward, which is based on unused monologue found in the files of Metroid Prime: "In the reaches of space, below the surface of Planet Zebes, Samus Aran faced the Space Pirates. She destroyed their operation, wiped out the parasites called Metroids, and defeated Mother Brain. But the pirates were far from finished..."
