This is a list of meteor smashes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Characters who have an attack with a meteor smash hitbox are listed here, along with each attack. As the exact numerical distinction between "meteor smash" and "spike" is currently unknown, this page assumes that Brawl's range of 230-310 is at least similar. This list does not include unconventional meteor smashes.

Meteor cancelling has not come back since Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U, making meteor smashes function the same as spikes.

List

Bayonetta

  • Down Air Attack - The tip of the heel on her foot during the down air attack will meteor smash the opponent it hits.
  • Down Smash Attack - She summons a giant foot of a demon that stomps its foot down that can meteor smash opponents early or K.O fighters if they're close enough to a ledge and has taken enough damage.

Bowser

  • Down Air Attack - A stall-then-fall motion that meteor smashes as it begins its' descent.
  • Bowser Bomb - Same principle as down air.

Captain Falcon

  • Up Tilt - Meteor smashes airborne opponents at the heel of the foot.
  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot in his legs/feet
  • Raptor Boost (all variants) - Meteor smashes when aerial and above the opponent.

Charizard

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when Charizard's leg connects.

Chrom

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents in the bottom hitbox.

Cloud

  • Forward Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot located near the Buster Sword's tip.
  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot on the Buster Sword's hilt.
  • Climhazzard - Meteor smashes when the 3rd hit of Climhazzard.

Corrin

  • Down Air Attack - Last hit of down air attack has a meteor smash.

Dark Pit

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the center of the arc right below himself.

Dark Samus

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the bottom hitbox.
  • Up Tilt - Meteor smashes on contact with the bottom of Dark Samus' heel. Opponent must be underneath her foot to activate.

Diddy Kong

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when sweetspotted at Diddy Kong's fists.
  • Monkey Flip and Flying Monkey Flip - If Diddy Kong jumps after latching onto an opponent, they will be meteor smashed.

Donkey Kong

  • Foward Air Attack - Meteor smashes when Donkey Kong's fists are directly in front of him.
  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when sweetspotted.
  • Headbutt (all variants) - Meteor smashes airborne opponents.
  • Hand Slap - Meteor smashes with the second hit.

Dr. Mario

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when landing a hit.

Duck Hunt

  • Down Air Attack - Both hits are capable of meteor smashing.

Falco

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when sweetspotted during the first few frames.
  • Falco Phantasm - Meteor smashes airborne opponents with the illusion behind Falco.

Ganondorf

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes if the sweetspot in Ganondorf's legs/feet connects.
  • Flame Choke and Flame Wave - If the move's grab connects in the air, a stall-then-fall grab motion brings both Ganondorf and his opponent downward until solid ground is hit or they both bypass the lower blastline. Should a soft platform be hit instead, Ganondorf will land on it, but his opponent will continue downward like normal, although recovering from it is possible in this scenario.
  • Wizard's Foot and Wizard's Assault - Meteor smashes for the first few frames of Ganondorf's descent.

Greninja

  • Down Air Attack - A stall-then-fall motion that meteor smashes as it begins its' descent.
  • Substitute and Substitute Ambush - The final hitbox (after Greninja travels the farthest) does a meteor smash if he aims downwards.
  • Secret Ninja Attack - The finishing blow is a meteor smash.

Ike

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the very tip of the blade.
  • Aether and Aether Drive - Meteor smashes as Ike begins his descent.
  • Great Aether - The finishing blow is a meteor smash.
  • Eruption - Meteor smashes at the very tip of the blade, like down air attack.

Incineroar

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in its bottom hitbox.

Inkling

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in its bottom hitbox.

Isabelle

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the sweetspot at the center of the Turnips.

Ivysaur

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes if the hit lands.

Ken

  • Down Air Attack - Punches diagonally downward. Meteor smashes on contact with Ken's fist.

King Dedede

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when hit with the center of the "large part" of the hammer.
  • Super Dedede Jump and Quick Dedede Jump - Meteor smashes while King Dedede is descending.

King K. Rool

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in its bottom hitbox.
  • Back Air Attack - Meteor smashes in its bottom hitbox.

Kirby

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the final hitbox.
  • Final Cutter - Meteors as it begins its descending strike.

Link

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents if the sweetspot at the tip of the Master Sword lands a hit.

Little Mac

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents if the sweetspot on Little Mac's fist connects. Can be very difficult to land. This is also among the weakest meteor smashes.

Lucas

  • Back Air Attack - The top of the hit box in his back air will spike opponents, although it is difficult to land.
  • Down Air Attack - The last frames of his down air will spike.

Lucina

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in its bottom hitbox.

Luigi

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot at the bottom of Luigi's feet.

Mario

  • Forward Air Attack - Meteor smashes in its bottom hitbox.

Marth

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in its bottom hitbox.

Mega Man

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the bottom hitbox of the projectile. Opponent must be directly underneath and airborne.

Mewtwo

  • Down Air Attack - Forces out energy in it's hand, meteor smashing airborne opponents with a lot of power.

Mr. Game & Watch

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the first few frames of the attack after Mr. Game & Watch swings the key below him.

Ness

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot on Ness' foot, in the center of the PSI circles that form around it.

Olimar

  • Down Air Attack

Palutena

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents in the bottom hitbox.

Pichu

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot between Pichu's ears during the first few frames of their descent.
  • Thunder - Meteor smashes airborne opponents if the lightning lands a hit in the first few frames after emerging from the cloud.

Pikachu

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the bottom hitbox in the first few frames of the attack animation.
  • Thunder - Meteor smashes airborne opponents if the lightning lands a hit in the first few frames, after emerging from the cloud.

Pit

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the center of the arc right below himself.

R.O.B.

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents upon landing a hit in the sweetspot at the base of the blast. Opponent must be airborne to activate.

Richter

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot on the tip of Richter's foot. Must land the hit within the first couple of frames of Richter's descent.

Ridley

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot on Ridley's feet. Must land the hit within the first few frames of the attack animation.

Robin

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when Robin's sword is directly to the side of them. Must be directly above opponent to activate. Opponent must be airborne.

Roy

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents in the bottom hitbox.

Ryu

  • Down Air Attack - Punches diagonally downward. Meteor smashes on contact with Ryu's fist.

Samus

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the bottom hitbox.
  • Up Tilt - Meteor smashes on contact with the bottom of Samus' heel. Opponent must be underneath her foot to activate.

Sheik

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes if the sweetspot on Sheik's foot connects during the first few frames of her descent.

Shulk

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents when hit by the Monado's bottom hitbox.

Simon

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot on the tip of Simon's foot. Must land the hit within the first couple of frames of Simon's descent.

Snake

  • Forward Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the bottom hitbox, in the last few frames of the attack.

Sonic

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents at the sweetspot on Sonic's foot in the first few frames of the attack animation.

Toon Link

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the first few frames of Toon Link's descent.

Villager

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the sweetspot at the center of the Turnips.

Wii Fit Trainer

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the bottom hitbox. Opponent must be airborne to activate.
  • Forward Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot on Wii Fit Trainer's right foot (the one that jabs outward behind them).
  • Header - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot where Wii Fit Trainer's head makes contact with the ball.

Wolf

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes when the sweetspot at the bottom of the claw marks land a hit.

Yoshi

  • Forward Air Attack - Meteor smashes in the last few frames of the attack animation, the hitbox being on the bottom of the small arc that appears when Yoshi swings his head downward.

Zelda

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes at the sweetspot directly underneath the hem of Zelda's dress. Must connect in the first few frames of the attack animation.

Zero Suit Samus

  • Down Air Attack - Meteor smashes airborne opponents in the first few frames of the attack animation.
  • Flip Jump - If Samus lands on an opponent in midair without pressing the attack button again, the attack meteor smashes.
