Koffing (ドガース, Dogāsu, Dogars in Japanese language versions) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

Creature description

Koffing is a somewhat small purple spherical creature with a face. As the Pokédex explains, it floats in the air, kept aloft by lighter-than-air gases in its body, and you can observe through its thin skin the gases swirling inside if you get up close. An embodiment of toxic substances, Koffing mixes toxins within itself with raw garbage to set off a chemical reaction that results in the terribly powerful poison gas contained within itself. More of the gas is concocted by Koffing if the temperature is higher. The reeking gas causes constant sniffles, coughs, and teary eyes. If it becomes agitated, it raises the toxicity of its internal gases and then jets them out from all over its body. Because it stores several kinds of toxic gases in its body, it is prone to exploding without warning, particularly in warm places when the gases could expand, and it could blow up at the slightest stimulation. It may overinflate its round body and explode as a tactic.

Koffing evolves into Weezing through level-up.

In Super Smash Bros.

Koffing's one appearance in the series as of now is as follows:

As a Poké Ball Pokémon

Koffing is one of 13 Pokémon that can come out of a Poké Ball in this game. It uses Poison Gas as its attack. Koffing releases gas from the pores on its body. Any character, other than the summoner, who touches the gas will take damage, and if he/she is very close to Koffing, he/she will be trapped until Koffing disappears.

Koffing's evolved form, Weezing, replaces it as the same type of attacking Pokémon in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Torchic] then takes Weezing's place in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
