In the Super Smash Bros. series, Kirby retains his most notable abilities: the ability to float, in the form of a five-use multi-jump, and the ability to inhale and swallow enemies, which allows him to copy other players' normal B-button special moves to use. Unlike in other Kirby games, he is able to use a few abilities without the need to first copy them, such as Cutter, Stone, and to some extent, even Fighter and Suplex/Backdrop. Kirby is one of the smallest characters and also one of the lightest, although he has somewhat more power than many of the light fighters. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Kirby was given the Hammer ability, and his weight and attack power were noticeably decreased. He was also given his Burning ability as his dash attack. His symbol is the Warp Star.
As seen in the trailer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Kirby will be making a return appearance, and his rival Meta Knight will also be a playable character. In Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Kirby can use his moves from Super Smash Bros. Melee by defeating and swallowing a scaled-down version of Master Hand, the final boss from both Super Smash Bros. games.

Hats
Kirby has the unique ability of swallowing his opponents and copying their abilities. When he swallows a character, this character's B Special Move replaces Kirby's Swallow Special move, and he wears a "hat" of the character he copied, which he can throw away with his taunt, making him a unique character.
Bowser
Kirby will be able to use Fire Breath and have Bowser's horns, hair and eyebrows.
Captain Falcon
Kirby will be able to use Falcon Punch and he will have Captain Falcon's visor.
Donkey Kong
Kirby will be able to use Giant Punch and he will have a DK suit.
Dr. Mario
Kirby will be able to throw Megavitamins and he will have Dr. Mario's mirror.
Falco
Kirby will be able to use Falco's Blaster and he will have Falco's beak, red around eyes, and some of his feathers on the head.
Fox
Kirby will be able to use Fox's Blaster and he will have Fox's ears and helmet.
Ganondorf
Kirby will be able to use Warlock Punch and he will have Ganondorf's hair, eyebrows and headbrace.
Ice Climbers
Kirby will be able to use Ice Shot and he will have the Ice Climber parka.
Jigglypuff
Kirby will be able to use Pound in Super Smash Bros. and Rollout in Super Smash Bros. Melee. He will also have Jigglypuff's ears and hair.
Kirby
Nothing happens when Kirby attempts to copy another Kirby but, he can steal another Kirby's power.
Link
Kirby will be able to use a Boomerang in Super Smash Bros. and a Bow and Arrow in Super Smash Bros. Melee and he will have Link's hat.
Luigi
Kirby will be able to shoot green, non gravity-affected fireballs and he will have Luigi's cap.
Mario
Kirby will be able to shoot bouncing fireballs and have Mario's cap.
Marth
Kirby will be able to use a Shield Breaker attack and he will have Marth's hair and headbrace.
Mewtwo
Kirby will be able to use Shadow Ball and he will have Mewtwo's ears and tail.
Mr. Game & Watch
Kirby will be able to use chef and he will be completely black, with a gray outline and white eyes.
Ness
Kirby will be able to use PK Fire in Super Smash Bros. and PK Flash in Super Smash Bros. Melee and he will have Ness's baseball cap.
Peach
Kirby will be able to use a Toad to block attacks and he will have Peach's crown.
Pichu
Kirby will be able to use Thunder Jolt and he will have a hat that looks like Pichu. Like Pichu, Pichu Kirby will take damage when using Thunder Jolt.
Pikachu
Kirby will be able to use the Thunder Jolt attack and he will have a hat that looks like Pikachu.
Roy
Kirby will be able to use Roy's Flare Blade and he will have Roy's hair and headbrace.
Samus
Kirby will be able to use Charge Shot and he will have Samus' helmet.
Sheik
Kirby will be able to use Needle Storm and he will have Sheik's wrapping and hair. Sheik Kirby can't transform into Zelda Kirby like Sheik can.
Yoshi
Kirby will be able to turn characters into eggs and he will have a hat that looks like Yoshi.
Young Link
Kirby will be able to use a bow and flaming arrows and he will also have Young Link's hat.
Zelda
Kirby will be able to use Nayru's Love and he will have Zelda's headdress. Zelda Kirby can't transform into Sheik Kirby like Zelda can.
