The Pokédex in the games state its body is extremely light, enough that the gentlest of breezes causes it to drift and float with the wind - this it enjoys, and upon a gentle breeze it may even float all the way to the next town. But for slightly stronger winds, it must grip the ground firmly with its feet to keep from being blown away, and if it senses the approach of very strong winds, groups of Hoppip link their leaves with each other and grip the ground all together with their feet to avoid being blown away. Hoppip(ハネッコ, Hanekko, Hanecco in Japanese language versions) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Hoppip has made only two minor appearances in this game; one as a background character, the other as a trophy.
As a stage element
Hoppip makes an appearance in Pokémon Stadium 2. It appears flying around and floating with several other Flying-type Pokemon in the background of when the stage changes its elemental form to the Flying type.
Trophy Information
A Cottonweed Pokemon. Its adorable appearance has captured the hearts of many fans. It's 1'04" in height, which is the same as Pikachu, but it's incredibly light, weighing only 1.1 pounds. Because it's so light, it often huddles with other Hoppip to keep itself from being blown away by strong winds. It evolves into Skiploom.
