The Hammer is Kirby's Smash B move, introduced in Super Smash Bros. Melee (as were all other Smash B moves). Kirby swings the hammer he gains from his Hammer ability in the Kirby series. On the ground, he swings it horizontally (as opposed to the games where he swings it vertically over his head to the ground in front of him), however, in midair, he swings it vertically, more like in the games. This is altered in Super Smash Bros. Brawl; While being used on the ground. he swings the same way. While being used in midair, Kirby spins twice instead of once, and the hammer appears to be set aflame, akin to one of Kirby's attacks as Hammer Kirby.
