The Great Fox (グレートフォックス, Great Fox) is the mother ship of the Star Fox team in the Star Fox series. Because of its importance in its home series, it has appeared in every installment of the Super Smash Bros. series.
Super Smash Bros.[]
The Great Fox makes its first appearance in the opening movie of Super Smash Bros. alongside Arwings before introducing Fox.
The Great Fox serves as the main fighting platform on the stage Sector Z, where it is flying to toward the left of the ship. Because the view faces the ship from the side, players can traverse the length of the ship. The size of the ship is drastically scaled down from its normal size, as it can normally store the Arwings and several land vehicles, and can encompass the entire Star Fox crew in its cockpit. Occasionally Arwings will fly down and fire at the Great Fox with lasers.
Super Smash Bros. Melee[]
The Great Fox makes an appearance in the opening intro for Melee, being featured alongside the Blue Falcon and the Samus' Gunship.
The Great Fox makes an appearance as the main platform in the Corneria stage, functioning identically as it did on the Sector Z stage. However, the main guns at the front of the ship will fire, dealing heavy damage and knockback to opponents standing on top of or being in front of the cannons. The Great Fox also appears on the Venom stage; however, due to the view being shifted to the front, players can traverse the width of the ship and fight on the four wings.
Trophy Description[]
The mother ship of the Star Fox team. When in battle, the ship's robot, ROB, can assume control of the bridge, allowing all hands to take to their Arwings or combat positions. The ship runs plasma engines capable of warp speeds, and its front lasers are effective both in battle and in clearing paths through asteroid belts.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]
The Great Fox makes its return as the main stage platform in the returning Corneria stage, functioning identically as it did in Melee. The Great Fox also makes an appearance on the Lylat Cruise stage; however, for the first time in the series it is not the main platform (ceding the role to the Pleiades) and instead appears as a background element.
The Great Fox later plays a role in the The Subspace Emissary, presumably piloted by Fox. It is used to engage the Halberd above the Wasteland, but due to the sheer size and more firepower of the Halberd, it is defeated and carried on the underside of the Halberd before slamming into the Glacial Peak, providing a platform for Meta Knight and the newly joined Lucario to board the Halberd. It is later seen flying off from the Halberd with its engines smoking, indicating that it is too damaged to be of more use, and is not seen again for the rest of the story.
Trophy Description[]
Great Fox[]
The mother ship of Team Star Fox. Its oversized plasma engines let it warp during interplanetary voyages. It carries the team's Arwings and Landmaster in its cargo hold, kept unlocked in case of emergency, and is equipped for emergency Arwing landings. Its two laser cannons can be used to blast asteroids. It's piloted by the robot ROB 64, who also issues directions to the teams.

Great Fox (Assault)[]
The Great Fox as it appears in Star Fox: Assault, looking more streamlined than in previous appearances. It takes a horrible amount of damage at the hands of the parasitic Aparoid army, and in a last, desperate attack. Peppy crashes it into the Aparoid home world. In the nick of time, Peppy and ROB 64 are whisked to safety.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U[]
The Great Fox appears on the returning Corneria stage for the 3DS version only, functioning identically as it did in previous installments.
The Great Fox appears on the stage Orbital Gate Assault on the Wii U version only. Unlike its previous appearance, it is based on its design from Star Fox: Assault due to the stage being based on the same game, and flies to the right of the stage. It is no longer the primary fighting platform, as it will shift the players to fight on a missile and Arwings. Fighters will start here first, and after riding on the missiles twice, the Arwings that pick up the fighters after the second missile will drop the players back onto the Great Fox to restart the cycle.
Trophy Description[]
Great Fox[]
The Great Fox falls into several different starship categories, but we'll spare you the complicated jargon and just call it an assault carrier. Using three plasma engines for smooth warp travel, this ship is essential to the resupplying, maintenance, and recuperation of the Star Fox team
Great Fox (Assault)[]
The Great Fox can be described as an assault carrier, or we could use any number of other jargon-heavy terms to complicated to list here (or remember). It's the Star Fox HQ and holds their Arwings. Landmasters, and more. Fox's father, James McCloud, was the one who had it built, and in Star Fox: Assault, it was fully renovated to give it a slick new look.
