A '''Glire''' is an enemy in [[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Subspace Emissary]] mode. It appears as a round machine with a central eye, and attacks by emitting flames. They can roll around the stage and climb up walls. They also have two other forms; one is [[Glice]], who releases ice instead of flame, and [[Glunder]], who releases sparks of electricity. A Glire does not require weakening to turn into a trophy, but if you throw your [[Trophy Stand]] while it is under a platform, it will fall down, so it is wise to use your Trophy Stand on top of a platform.

Glire (ガルファイア, Galfire in Japan) is an enemy from the Subspace Emissary mode of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It appears as a round machine (wheel, according to the trophy) with a central eye. Glires move around by rolling on floors, walls, and ceilings, although they will fall down if they flinch. When a Fighter approaches, a Glire will pause, open up, and launch fire out of its body. This attack only hits once, so shielding it allows a large lag time in which to attack. Like flame Jyks, Glires appear in caverns and ruins.

Glires appear as enemies in Smash Run. They essentially act the same as they did in Brawl.

Trophy Description

This rotating enemy will follow the terrain. The red one is called Glire. Should a fighter come too close, a blast of fire will erupt from Glire, damaging nearby foes. Glire has high stamina compared to Glice and Glunder, but it's very slow. It's especially vulnerable to ice attacks!

Trivia

  • Glires are similar to Flamers from the Kirby series as they move around the border of a platform and use fire-based attacks to hurt the player.
  • As a trophy, the Glire is the only one of its family that doesn't separate into the stretched form, which shows its element.
  • Lucas, Ness, and Mr. Game and Watch can absorb the fire attack similar to the Fire Flower item.
