GALINT Sheet

A sheet of the maximum amount of GALINT frames the Melee roster has (doesn't include Pichu).

This page focuses on a special set of invincibility frames known as GALINT, or Ground Actionable Ledge Intangibility. It was discovered by Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman during his many years labbing the game solo.

About GALINT[]

GALINT (or Ground Actionable Ledge Intangibility) is the number of frames that a character has ledge invincibility while being both on the stage and able to perform actions such as grabs, attacks, and special moves. This is mostly achieved through ledgedashing: as you can see on the sheet to the right, different characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee have a different amount of maximum frames of GALINT they can achieve through ledgedashing.

Due to this difference in ledgedashing GALINT frames, Pichu can pull off four consecutive normal jabs in a row (while invincible) if you have TAS levels of precision while tapping the A button.

The Bonkdash[]

The Bonkdash is a way to achieve more frames of GALINT using Marth or Roy. As mentioned above, Marth normally has 4 max frames of GALINT, and Roy normally has 5 max frames of GALINT. While using Marth or Roy on Battlefield, do these steps in the following order:

  1. Grab either ledge on the stage.
  2. Let go of the ledge, making sure you move forward.
  3. Air jump and bonk your head on the underside of the ledge.
  4. Grab the ledge again.

This will cause Marth & Roy's collision box to freeze a way that makes it look extremely flattened, and with this flat collision box, you can double jump on top of the stage earlier than usual. At this point, your collision box will return to normal and cause you to stand on the stage with 18 frames of GALINT - the most frames of invincibility you can possibly achieve in Melee. This also gives Marth & Roy the ability to cover HUGE amounts of space all while fully invincible.
