Porygon2 (ポリゴン2, Porigon Tsū) is a Pokémon and a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee[]

As a Poké Ball Pokémon[]

Porygon2 uses Tackle as its attack, much as the original Porygon did in Super Smash Bros.' Saffron City. Once released, Porygon2 will instantly dash a short distance horizontal, after it attacks it does an animation at the end which is speculated to be the Pokémon move Conversion 2, then disappears. Any character that makes contact with Porygon2 when it's moving will take significant damage and a huge amount of horizontal knockback; surprisingly, targets are sent in the opposite direction Porygon2 launched itself. However, if an opponent is grabbed, there will be no knockback. The chances a character has of recovering from this attack is very slim.

As a trophy[]

Porygon2 features as a collectible trophy, unlocked as one of the 100+ trophies that can be collected randomly during normal play, such as in the Trophy Lottery and throughout the various Single-player Regular Matches. It reads as follows:

Representing the next step in technological progress, this Virtual Pokémon is a higher-powered version of the man-made Pokémon, Porygon. Compared to the sharp edges of its relative, Porygon2's body is extremely smooth and rounded. In battle, it utilizes a special move called Conversion 2 to alter its type.

Evolution's Trophy Description in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS[]

Porygon is an artificial Pokémon created by humans. Given an Up-Grade, it becomes Porygon2. Then another mod turns it into Porygon-Z. You'd think two upgrades would make Porygon-Z the perfect Pokemon, but actually, the Dubious Disc used to make Porygon2 evolve seems to have introduced some bugs. Maybe a patch is in the works?
