From December 7th, 2018, buyers will also receive a downloadable Mii Fighter Costume for the Mii Swordfighter. This costume is based on Rex's character design from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Sakurai has also stated that he and his team would start working on creating the DLC when they finished the main game meaning the DLC production was on hold until the game's release. After its release on December 7th, 2018, Sakurai estimated that it might take around a year before they finish and release the DLC along with the pass.

While future downloadable content was announced during the September 4th, 2019 Nintendo Direct, Fighter Pass Vol. 2 was officially announced in Byleth's character presentation on January 16th, 2020. It will contain six fighters, six stages, and various music tracks associated with each individual DLC fighter.
From January 28th, 2020, buyers will also receive a downloadable Mii Fighter Costume for the Mii Swordfighter. This costume is based on the Ancient Soldier Gear, an outfit set that can be worn by Link in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
