The Fighters Pass is a free permit for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that allows players to buy a bundle of DLC containing 5 fighters, 5 stages, and various music tracks associated with each individual DLC fighter. The price for this bundle is $24.99 in the US, $31.49 in the CA. Without this pass, players can buy individual sets containing 1 fighter, 1 stage, and various music tracks for $5.99. Once the game releases, the contents of the bundle will be revealed. This pass, active after the game's release, expires in February 2020.
From December 7th, 2018, buyers will also receive a downloadable Mii Fighter Costume for the Mii Swordfighter. This costume is based on Rex's character design from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Sakurai has also stated that he and his team would start working on creating the DLC when they finished the main game meaning the DLC production was on hold until the game's release. After its release on December 7th, 2018, Sakurai estimates that it might take around a year before they finish and release the DLC along with the pass.
