Event Match 3: Bomb-Fest is the third of the 51 Event Matches in the Event mode of Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is a non-timed 1-man stock match between your character and a team of Link and Samus on the Mushroom Kingdom: Princess Peach's Castle stage, with the emphasis on explosive items, explosive character moves, and explosive stage elements.
This is one of three event matches that take place on the Princess Peach's Castle stage; the others are Event 10: All-Star Match 1 (the fourth of the five battles) and Event 21: Ice Breaker.
Layout
After selecting Event 3 from the Event mode menu and selecting your character, the match begins with you playing agaist a team of Link and Samus on the Princess Peach's Castle stage, and all players have 1 stock each. The object of the match is to KO both of them in no particular time limit.
This event match is notable because seemingly every explosive element in Melee is present and heavily used in the match: Bob-Ombs, Motion Sensor Bombs, and Poke-Balls that only ever release Electrode appear frequently as items; Link and Samus have bomb-like B-Down moves that are used liberally; and the stage itself has its traditional giant Bullet Bills regularly diving into the stage to create massive explosions. None of this should make the event match much easier or harder for players, however.
Strategies
As merely the third event match in a series of 51, this is not very tough for an event match, but it is chaotic enough that there are no noticably foolproof fighting strategies that present themselves. Simply go for the two opponents and try to KO both of them fast.
