Eliwood (Japanese: エリウッド Eliwod) is the father of Roy and is a member of Pherae's ruling monarchy. While he first has a minor role in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and is responsible for making his son Roy head of the Lycian Army, Eliwood becomes one of three main characters in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade (known as simply Fire Emblem outside Japan), and his backstory and character are more deeply looked into in that game.
In Super Smash Bros.[]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]
Eliwood appears in Brawl as a Sticker that when applied, gives the player resistance to fire attacks. This sticker can be applied to Marth and Ike.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U[]
Although Eliwood does not appear in any form in Smash 4, he appears as the basis for one of Roy's alternate costumes in that game.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
Eliwood appears in Ultimate as an Ace-level Neutral-type Primary spirit which can be obtained via the Spirit Board or from the shop. His spirit battle is a regular battle against Roy at Castle Siege's Battlefield form with a Lava Floor hazard. The Roy puppet fighter represents Roy's father, Eliwood, one of the three protagonists of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. The puppet fighter's cyan costume is based off of the cyan coloration of Eliwood's armor. The Lava Floor hazard references Eliwood's main weapon, the Blazing Blade Durandal, a legendary weapon with power over fire that is obtained in a lava cavern. The Easy to Launch rule and the edict that the enemy's explosion and fire attacks have increased power references to Durandal increasing its wielder's strength stats by 5. When equipped by an AI character, Eliwood grants increased damage to fire- and explosion-based attacks. When equipped by a player character, he grants two support slots and increased damage to fire-based attacks.
