Elec Man (エレキマン, Erekiman) is a character from the Mega Man series. He is one of the six robots created by Dr. Light and reprogrammed by Dr. Wily for his evil ways. According to Keiji Inafune, Elec Man is his favorite Robot Master of the series.
Character Description[]
Elec Man first appeared in Mega Man in 1987. He was originally built by Dr. Light to work in nuclear power plants and regulate their voltage. However, Dr. Wily reprogrammed him for his own evil and selfish ways. Elec Man bears the colors red, yellow, and black. He has wristbands on each arm, and a lightning bolt on his chest. He wears a mask with another lightning bolt. He is also the quickest of the original six robots Dr. Light built, as well as the most powerful. He is capable of defeating Mega Man in less than three hits due to the high power of his Thunder Beam.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U[]
Elec Man is an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U during the April Super Smash Bros. Direct. He shoots his signature Thunder Beam in three directions. He also walks and jumps similarly to his battle in the first Mega Man game.
Trophy Description[]
A robot created to help manage the power at nuclear plants. He specializes in directing power flow, handling levels of energy that would short out lesser robots. When he is called into battle, he'll zip around while firing his Thunder Beam in all directions. Don't get zapped!
- Mega Man (12/1987)
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
Elec Man does not return as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he instead appears as a spirit.
Trivia[]
- Elec Man is the only third-party Assist Trophy in the series that doesn't return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- Elec Man is the only Robot Master from the first Mega Man game whose stage music doesn't have a remix in Ultimate.
- Elec Man and Magnus are the only two new Assist Trophies in SSB4 to neither appear in Ultimate as playable characters nor returning Assist Trophies. They do appear as spirits in Ultimate, however.
