Duck Jump is Duck Hunt's Up Special Move. The duck grabs the dog by the tail and carries it upward for a short distance before getting tired and falling. The direction they go in can be influenced by the control stick.

Duck Jump is an average recovery, covering a decent amount of distance both vertically and horizontally. It is very slow though, making it easy to gimp, edgeguard, or otherwise interrupt. It is generally considered safest to go towards yonder ledge when recovering with Duck Jump to prevent punishing. In PAL regions, the move is named Duck Jump Duo, falling in line with the altered name of the character itself. The "duo" extension is not included in the names of the two custom variations, most probably as a result of the move names already containing 3 words (and therefore preventing excessively long move names).
