Duck Hunt, known as Duck Hunt Duo in Europe, is the collective name of the dog and a duck from the Zapper Light Gun game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1984 titled Duck Hunt. The dog and a duck from the game appear as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U with the name of Duck Hunt.
Character Description
Duck Hunt consists of the dog reffered by player as "Duck Hunt Dog" (Originally called Mr. Peppers) and a duck from the game. The player controls the iconic, hunting dog character that is most well known for its mocking laughter that would occur when a player would let a duck fly safely off-screen. The duck rests in the dog's back and assists him in some attacks.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
The ducks from Duck Hunt appear as a Trophy.
Trophy description
These friendly fowl are the targets in the game Duck Hunt, which utilizes the Nintendo Zapper Light Gun. They appear and randomly fly about trying to escape after your faithful (if slightly clamorous) hunting dog flushes them out. Once you drop the ducks, your dog dutifully fetches them by the napes of their necks and grins at you.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U
Duck Hunt appears as an unlockable newcomer and a playable character. It was revealed via a Japanese live stream on Twitch.
Trivia
- Duck Hunt is one of three characters in the Super Smash Bros. series that has never appeared as playable in another video game, the others being Palutena and Wii Fit Trainer.
