The Drop Block is a component which can be added to stages in the Stage Builder. It looks like a wooden block with a downwards-pointing arrow on it. A Drop Block will fall somewhat slowly when stood on or when an item is on it. After a short while, it will respawn. Since players cannot pass through Drop Blocks from the sides or bottom, they can be used in Stage Builder to make one-way passages or initial spawn points.

The Drop Block (analogus to a Donut Lift) is a part usable in Brawl's Stage Builder, and are also found in later levels of the Subspace Emissary. They are brown blocks with dark brown upside-down triangles on the sides. When stepped on for long enough by characters or items, these blocks shake, then fall. They eventually reappear. They only drop when they are stood on, so it is possible to make one way passages by sealing a narrow entry with a Drop Block.
Drop Blocks also appear in some Subspace Emissary levels, although these have different appearances. They are very similar to the Donut Lifts many gamers may remember from Super Mario Bros. 3.

Interestingly, it is possible to Wall Cling to the side of a Drop Block without making it fall.

When building a custom stage, Drop Blocks count as the mandatory ground to allow the stage; however, a custom stage can be made with nothing but four Drop Blocks, which will lead to Self-Destructs.

Dropblocks custom

Drop Blocks can be used in custom stages.
