Drifloon (フワンテ, Fuwante, Fuwante in Japanese language trademarks) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

Creature description

Drifloon is an odd little Pokémon resembling a balloon with a cloudy whisp on its head, a yellow "X" on its face, and a pair of needle-thin legs. It can inflate its "head" like Jigglypuff. According to the Pokédex, it is claimed to be formed by the spirits of people and Pokémon. It loves seasons that are damp and humid. It tugs on the hands of children in an attempt to spirit them away somewhere, but because it weighs less than three pounds, it gets pulled around instead. Because of the way it floats aimlessly, an old folktale calls it a "Signpost for Wandering Spirits."

In the RPGs Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, Drifloon is a rare Pokémon, and only one individual a week appears in front of a building complex called Valley Windworks every Friday. You must be playing on a Friday and go to Valley Windworks to get the opportunity to catch it. Drifloon evolves into Drifblim, a larger, corporeal ghostly balloon with some of the physical characteristics of a dirigible.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

As a stage element

Drifloon is the balloon Pokémon that appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Pokémon Stadium 2 on the Flying Type Aspect of the stage. It is not known whether this appearance by Drifloon is merely cosmetic or if it affects gameplay on its own.

Trophy Description

A Balloon Pokémon that appears each Friday at the Valley Windworks in the Sinnoh region. It's round and cute, but it has a dreadful side too, as it attempts to drag children into the underworld by their hands. It likes damp, humid seasons. If it's on the verge of fainting in battle, it will counterattack by self-destructing. It evolves into Drifblim.
