- For other Dream Land stages, see Dream Land (disambiguation)
Dream Land, known as Pupupu Land (プププランド Pupupu Rando?) in Japan, is a new stage that appears in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. The stage would return in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate under the name Dream Land GB to distinguish it from the similarly-named Smash 64 stage.
Stage layout[]
The stage works similarly to Flat Zone in that it takes place in a game console, in this case the Game Boy. Like Flat Zone, Dream Land has very close side blast lines, making getting KO'd very easy. Lower blast lines are only encountered occasionally as the stage scrolls.
In this stage, the fighters will play on different levels from the game Kirby's Dream Land, transitioning to a new level every 20 seconds or so.
The characters will spawn in the Game Boy's opening screen, which quickly transitions to the original version of Green Greens. Later, the stage will scroll to another part of Green Greens, where there is a cliff drop to the right. The stage will then transition to King Dedede's castle, composed of a main floor, two higher platforms, and four doors which cannot be accessed. It will then transition outside the castle, on two large platforms and three small ones. It will then transition to the King Dedede boss room.
Phases
Green Greens: This section starts in a flat area with a door marked In in the background. After some time, a pointing hand appears and stage scrolls right, passing over a pit and stopping at a cliff.
Castle Lololo (exterior): The exterior features two platforms on the bottom. The bottom-right platform has three small platforms above it.
Castle Lololo (interior): The interior has one bottom platform and three hard platforms arranged in a triangle.
Float Islands: This section starts at the end of an island, while a ship's hull is visible. Fighters are not able to swim in the water, although the water will make a splash effect when entered. After some time, a pointing hand appears and the stage scrolls right passing over the ship to a pair of small islands with two platforms on each(the edge of the ship is also on screen).
Bubbly Clouds: This section starts with four cloud platforms: two at the bottom and two at the top. After some time, a pointing hand appears and the stage scrolls right, stopping at three cloud platforms.
Mt. Dedede (lobby): The Boss Rush lobby has one bottom platform and two platforms on the left and right sides of the stage.
Mt. Dedede (boxing ring): The boxing ring is completely flat.
Holding the L button while selecting the stage will change the green color of the stage into white, similar to the Game Boy Pocket or any other console other than the original Game Boy that can play the original Kirby's Dream Land game. This even applies to the Ω Form of this stage. This Easter egg is absent in Ultimate.
Origin[]
Kirby's Dream Land was played on a Game Boy, with five stages. Players controlled Kirby as he traveled through Dream Land, picking up food, Superspicy Curry, Maxim Tomatoes, and 1-ups. The five stages were Green Greens, Castle Lololo, Float Islands, Bubbly Clouds, and Mt. Dedede. Mt. Dedede was the last stage, and players were given the option to begin again.

Trivia[]
- Due to the close proximity of the background, Star KOs will never occur in this stage. This also applies to WarioWare, Inc., Boxing Ring and Green Hill Zone. Screen KOs can still happen, however. Both Star KOs and Screen KOs are disabled for this stage in Ultimate.
- If the timer runs out in timed matches, the Game Boy battery will shut down. This does not happen in Sudden Death.
- In Ultimate, the following Assist Trophies cannot appear on this stage: Thwomp, the Moon, Nightmare, Andross, Color TV-Game 15, Devil, Dr. Wright, Yuri Kozukata, Squid Sisters, Ghosts and Shadow the Hedgehog. Additionally, the following Poké Ball Pokémon cannot be summoned: Abra, Alolan Exeggutor, Lugia. Kyogre, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Zoroark, Kyurem, Xerneas and Lunala.
