Dixie Kong (ディクシーコング) is one of the main characters of the Donkey Kong franchise.
Dixie Kong is a young female Kong hailing from Donkey Kong Island. She is an energetic and very active tomboy who is cheerful and can be a bit assertive but will never turn down an opportunity to go on an adventure. When not on a journey, she likes to blow bubblegum bubbles, make banana milkshakes, and play guitar. Dixie also enjoys being in the company of her friends and family; her boyfriend is Diddy Kong, and her immediate family includes cousin Kiddy Kong and younger sister Tiny Kong.
Dixie is best known for her long blonde ponytail. When playable, her special ability is being able to use her ponytail as a propeller, allowing to control her aerial descent as well as move efficiently underwater; her hair is also capable of lifting large objects and the other Kongs. She also utilizes her acrobatic abilities well, often having a higher jump compared to Diddy and Donkey Kong and is even able to perform aerial attacks. In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Dixie also gains possession of the Gumball Popgun - as the name suggests, it is much like the Peanut Popgun, but fires bubblegum instead of peanuts.
Dixie first debuted in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, where she joined Diddy in his journey to rescue Donkey Kong from Kaptain K. Rool. She is expanded into a starring role in the sequel Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, where she and Kiddy Kong travel together to look for Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong who have gone missing. Dixie and Kiddy are once again in central roles in Donkey Kong Land III, where they go partake in a competition to search for the Lost World. She returns years later in Tropical Freeze as one of the four playable characters (five in the Nintendo Switch port); aside from her ponytail-based attacks, she and Donkey Kong together can turn all on-screen enemies into gold hearts through their Kong POW special. Outside of those games, she is also an active participant in the Mario sports games (specifically Mario Superstar Baseball, Mario Hoops 3-on-3, Mario Superstar Sluggers, and Mario Kart Tour) as well as Diddy Kong Racing DS and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast.
Dixie's only appearance is in Trophy form.
More than just Diddy Kong's girlfriend, Dixie Kong is also a fearless adventurer and a reliable team player. She earned her wings helping Diddy rescue Donkey Kong from the clutches of King K. Rool. Dixie's amazingly quick and nimble, and she's even able to twirl her ponytail in order to float slowly through the air.

Diddy Kong's cutie of a girlfriend with an adorable blond ponytail. That ponytail is hardly for show—it helps propel her through the air for extended hang time and is indispensable for spin-attacking enemies and lifting barrels. Watch out—Dixie packs more power than you might imagine!

Leftover data for a scrapped fighter with the codename "dixie" can be found within the game's data, suggesting that Dixie herself was planned to be playable at some point. Masahiro Sakurai would later confirm this, stating that the original plan was to have both Diddy and Dixie work as a tag team similar to the mechanic used in the first three Donkey Kong Country games. The idea had to be dropped due to technical limitations and only Diddy would be the one to join the roster.
The Dixie Kong trophy is a red item that can be acquired during Smash Tour. If used, it will grant the player an additional mid-air jump during matches.
Diddy Kong's girlfriend. She loves to adventure with him. Her ponytail isn't just for show—she can use it to swim faster, soar in the sky, and even lift barrels! With hair that does all that, you can bet she takes good care of it!
Dixie Kong is all about style and substance. Just look at her ponytail. It's not just a fashion statement - she can spin it to fly up into the air, swim against strong currents, and even throw barrels with it, no problem! No wonder Diddy Kong likes her!

A Spirit of Dixie is available in the base game. It is a Primary Grab Spirit under the Ace class. Her Spirit Battle uses Isabelle, who is equipped with a Super Leaf (mirroring Dixie's ability to hover). She is also assisted by Diddy Kong, referencing their relationship. Only Banana Peels will spawn. The stage is Jungle Japes and the song that plays is "Swinger Flinger".
It can also be summoned by using the Spirit Cores of Tiny Kong and Candy Kong. It can be enhanced to Level 99, which will then transform it to Dixie Kong & Kiddie Kong, a Primary Grab Spirit under the Legendary class.
