It is possible to be hit indirectly by a Deku Nut too. By thowing a Deku Nut short, it explodes in a flash of light. Any player around the blast site will become dazed (as if they had ''Shield Break''). If the Deku Nut is left alone for to long it will start to expand and shrink rapidly. After a set time it will explode, dazing all around it. It will also explode if disturbed by damage. |

The Deku Nut (デクの実(み) deku no mi?) is an item from The Legend of Zelda series. These small items may look like food, but are actually a throwable item. Once thrown at an enemy, it will stun them for a brief moment.

Deku Nuts takes the appearance of ordinary nuts except they are filled with a special substance that can stun an individual if the nut is damaged. Deku Nuts can be found mainly around the Kokiri Forest region. Deku Babas also emit Deku Nuts when they are defeated. Link can use the Deku Nuts to stun certain enemies in the game. Impa and Sheik also use a Deku Nut or an item similar to a Deku Nut to conceal their departure from a certain area. When it explodes by being thrown, attacked, or timed out, any character in its blast range (including the thrower) becomes stunned, making them vulnerable to a free hit.
